How can people not be excited for GW2?

If you can name one thing that Wow is better then the featured GW2 has i´ll be surprised , if something it is the unique pvp that WoW has which is the only thing I enjoy.

I think a big part is that it hasn't gotten a whole heck of a lot of media attention, especially in comparison to SWTOR. Many just don't know what it's offering.

Also, I don't know what all you told your friends, but just saying "no holy trinity" and "no quests" really doesn't sound all that great.

People think there opinion counts for everyone else's It doesn't matter if the game fails or not, or if loads of people quit wow for it or even if no one quits wow for it. all that matters is if GW 2 is a good game for the person playing it.

It you play GW:2 and dont like it fine, no problem just leave. If you play GW:2 and like it then Gz on the new game. It really does not matter how many subs a game has or how many players a game has all that matters is the game is good to the individual playing it.

These posts are not aimed at individuals but rather everyone, not everyone will agree the game will be good or bad and know one even knows yet, This topic as others serves no purpose and wont even after the games released. Everyone's opinions will never be the same about everything.

I don't get the big hype about 'no holy trinity system', I actually like the design of it, I can't imagine a system without that holy trinity working rlly well, I imagine that being a clusterfuck..
What exactly is wrong with questing aswell? It's not the quests that are that boring, it's that you end up doing stuff that doesn't matter and doesn't feel like it's contributing to your character or your surroundings.

I don't think GW2 will be as amazing as everyone will say, it may be something new, but I think it will be same as TOR, Rift, Aion etc. (And I actually play TOR myself and will probably continue to do so because I love the game so far), meaning that 50% of the players that play it are people who are like lol WoW sucks etc and then end up going back to WoW after they realize the new MMO is just a game aswell.

Not everybody who plays WoW dislikes it and is desperately waiting for "any other game" to "come along and beat WoW!"

WoW is the continuation of a format that started in DikuMUD, became 3D in EverQuest, and was refined in WoW. GW:2 is a new format.

I am excited to try a new format, but I've been part of the old format for a long time because I find it enjoyable. Not everybody in the planet likes the same game type. Not everybody on the planet plays only one game type. GW:2 won't likely stop making me play my old format, because I obviously enjoy it.

If you don't enjoy the format, you don't need to hang out waiting, either. It seems like some people feel the need to play WoW even tho they don't enjoy much of anything about it. Just because you want a virtual world to play in, and don't like what is available, doesn't mean you should be paying to hang out in a world that people do enjoy, and spend your time trying to convince them they aren't having a good time.

I can speak for that, the only place ive heard of gw2 is here on mmo-champ and i goda tell ya, I have no idea what all the fuzz is about, checked it out on its web page and from my POV it looks like a slightly different lotr game.

because I played GW1, and nothing put out by arena net excites me. what you enjoy, and what I enjoy are two different things. you shouldn't get so bent out of shape when everyone doesn't share the same interests as you.

Uhh.. the main thing about Guild Wars is it has much better PvP. I hope they keep the same quality of PvP in GW2.

the joystick network not devoted to WoW has given it quite a bit of hype. Gamescom was pretty much all GW2 hype.

Unfortunately I think there will be a lot of WoW converts that will try Guild Wars 2, and flame it to hell and back. Just like all the WoW players who tried GW1 and stood shouting 'guys how do i jump??' 'WTF NO JUMP ON THIS GAME? *ragequits*'.
