Here the computer I'm looking at - opinions please.

Hey guys, I'm doing one of those deals from ebay where you pay for the upgrades and they send it to you in working order etc.

    Intel Core i5 2500 3.3GHz Desktop Computer PC 8GB DDR3 RAM 1TB 1000GB SATA3 HDD
Computer System Video Card Upgrade to GTX560 2GB
Computer System OS Upgrade Windows 7 Profesional

I'm not sure I linked enough, but that's pretty much it, putting a GTX560 2gb into it with windows 7 proff, I was going to bump it up to 16gb of ram, but seemed a little overkill atm.

can anyone suggest anything else? it's really just for wow.

GTX560 2GB is pointless, it doesn't have enough juice to run at higher reso with proper AA anyway (which would require such VRAM).

Unless you're doing VM's, video editing and such things 16 gig RAM is overkill. Go with 8 or 12 GB instead, should be plenty

yeah it comes with 8 , is there anything else you could suggest please? the above poster said my card I picked was useless? I thought it was high end for gaming, sorry not very savvy.

without a top-end chip that 2g video card is overkill. get a better chip (super expensive) or drop down to a 1g video card.

Well, aside from the "2500k" and "build it yourself" suggestions, that's pretty much the go-to gaming computer atm.

I'm sure it can run wow on most settings on ultra (except shadows etc).

Make sure that the Windows you get is 64bit otherwise the 8gb of RAM is pointless as it won't recognize it all. Also is there any reason you need Windows Professional? The Home Premium should fit all your needs I believe.

I'm not getting proff anymore, as I only needed it to get 16gb of RAM, but the home premium will suffice.

Depends on the cost of the computer vs the specs they are offering. You didn't mention how much the computer cost.
It's like we are all Red Jelly Beans in a Jar full of various colors. Every now and then they reach in and get a Red Jelly Bean.
We know we are in there, we can see the color, we just can't do anything to speed up our being taken out of the jar -- Jelly Beans can't speak.

$550 with nothing added, I just added windows 7 GTX560 etc,

Well idk who is throwing this 2gb Video card advice but uhh yea they are wrong. With the way games are going 1gb is quickly being used up even @ 1920x1080, battlefield 3 will easily max out 1gb @ 1920x1080 w/ high/ultra mixed settings.

Get the 560Ti instead. It performs better, and costs maybe $20 more than normal 560.

Edit: Or get the 560Ti 448 core one for some even more, performs almost the same as a 570 but costs less.

I wouldn't change from HDD to SSD, but rather add a SSD and keep the HDD. Can you choose a 80 or 128 GB SSD? Depends wether you have the money or not of course, but I'd do that. Place your OS and programs/games on the SSD and rest (documents, music, movies etc etc) on the HDD. That would speed up your booting time a lot and improve performance in games aswell.

What kind of computer store is that?
If they want to earn money, they would really start with 560Ti.

I worked in a computer store for a few months, and 560Ti was out of stock quite some times due to being sold so fast.
Of all the nVidia cards, 560Ti and 580 are the most popular graphic cards so far.

Is there no way you can talk them over to get a 560Ti instead? I doubt they will lose anything by changing like that.
