    Missed the Train!

    Hello!

Those that remember, I was about to purchase the PNY GTX 460 graphics card (for Diablo 3 Only on Ultra at 1920 x 1080) , but ended up not purchasing it due to it being out of stock.

I received an email from Newegg with the 6850 and 6870 being on sale.

I was wondering if I should purchase one of these cards or if I should hold off and continue looking some more? (Maybe the PNY GTX 460 will come back into stock).

GIGABYTE Ultra Durable VGA Series GV-R685OC-1GD Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity: $139.99 before MIR and $119.99 before Mail-In-Rebate. I also have a 10% coupon to use too. I think it would come out to $106.00 with all discounts applied.

    The other card is:

XFX Double D HD-687A-ZDFC Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity: $169.99 before MIR and $149.99 after Mail-In-Rebate. I also have a 10% coupon to use too. I think it would come out to $133.00 with all discounts applied.

Please let me know if should go ahead and finally pull the plug on one of these cards. I'm ready to just buy a graphics card and be done with all this. Again, I'm only going to use the card for Diablo 3 with everything maxed.

    Thank you

Well if it's only for D3, you can probably wait a bit and save ~20$ on the 6870.

Despite some of the reviews and the minor lack of good customer service? Also, it seems like with XFX there's an issue with them being accountable for their mail in rebate. I don't think it's a big deal though. I'll go ahead and purchase the card tomorrow. Thank you.

How? $133.00 seems pretty darn good.

If it is ONLY for D3, I would wait till you have at least a release date, and buy a new card then. D3 wont be out any time soon.

People who say Only are giving us a guideline imo of how heavy of a graphics card they need. I'd look into other 6870's myself, but the 6870 heavily outperforms a 460 on everything except tesselation.
