    Mists of Pandaria PvP Recap

    Mists of Pandaria PvP

    New Battlegrounds
    • These battlegrounds are just ideas and not all of them may make into this expansion.
    • Stranglethorn Diamond Mines - Payload style gameplay
    • Valley of Power - Murderball
    • Azshara Crater - DOTA style gameplay
    • New Arena - Tol'vir Proving Grounds

    Stranglethorn Diamond Mine
    • The mine is located below northern Stranglethorn Vale.
    • It has payload style gameplay, as the team has to escort a cart along a switchable track to the depot.
    • The first team to a set amount of resources wins.
    • There are three mine carts to choose from for the two teams and five possible paths.
    • Each path has some sort of trap that will delay progress and can easily be triggered by members of the opposing team.

    Valley of Power
    • This battleground is located in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.
    • New murderball style gameplay.
    • Holding the orb earns points for each team.
    • There are multiple point zones, the closer you are to the center while holding the orb, the more points you earn per tick.
    • The orb deals damage to the holder, which increases over time.

    Tol'vir Proving Grounds - Arena
    • The arena is located in Uldum.
    • The layout is simple and based on Nagrand arena with 4 pillars and teams starting on opposite sides.

    General
    • There will be no flying in the world until level 90.
    • Blizzard likes the way Resilience currently works in PvP, and how it gives a nice goal for players looking to progress/upgrade their PvP gear.
    • However, resilience is a large barrier for people who want to start PvPing and have no PvP gear yet.
    • This is why resilience will become a base stat, increasing slightly every time you level.

    If there's not at least 12359 TF2 references in Stranglethorn payload, I will be disappointed.

    Hopefully Azshara Crater turns out to be fun 45-man bg, and won't be scrapped at the last minute for a crappy bg reskin (See Battle for Gilneas City).

    "Huttball" was by no means created by SWTOR as it's a pretty common bg type traditonally found in many MMO's; long before SWTOR arrived on the MMO scene. Nor would I say Murderball is really all that innovative since it's basically a re-skin of "Carry the flag".

    there obv gonna either scrap it or make it a recolor, duh havnt you noticed this? and i hope stv payload will be full of tf2 references D:

    finally a battleground in STV. One of my fav zones

    Resilience as a base stat though? Why not just make a flat damage reduction cap when vsing players? only further increased / midigated by resilience on gear as its acquired?

    What they should do with that arena..... is remove the 4 statues... That'd be great.

    but the murderball Bg sounds fun, and the payload, despite that i hate the references ideas

    Nah, in this you get points for just HOLDING the ball, you dont have to turn it in to any sort of goal. You just get more points if you hold the ball closer to the center of the field.

    Ring of Valor? The only way it could be possibly be worse is to make the pillars always down. I would be cool with a wargame only arena that was completely devoid of LOS so you could play it casually (though we have in-world pvp arenas for that like in STV), but no Id rather not have a rated arena be that way. It is way to imbalanced towards certain classes, and really dumbs down the battle as a whole.

    EDIT: Im REALLY excited for the Azshara's Crater BG though... That has the potential to be a lot of fun.

    Sweet Always loved Murderball in Halo I think I'm going to really enjoy it! As for the payload Just imagine all Tank+Healer team 0_0

    Valley of power sounds more like the BG they had in Rift.... exact same mechanics actually, you grab said object, hold said object the longer you hold it the more points you get, trade off tho, you take damage every % time...

    All bgs seems nice just the arena is fail, is a reskin of nagrand arena....4 pillars.

    Murderball will be hard without healer's meh.
