I was not stating that Kirito is a spineless wimp, just that several of my least favorite characters just so happen to be. I dislike Kirito because I think he's boring and far too perfect, and I'm also on the side that thinks SAO started off well and then just went downhill from there. Kirito being a more interesting character could've made it a whole lot better, but he's just so boring to me.

perfect? the dude tends to be oblivious to the feelings of those around him, unless they make it blindingly obvious, and (at least at the beginning of the series) tends to think about himself only. hardly redeeming qualities.

By perfect, I mean his morals and everything he attempts and succeeds at instantly. It makes for a boring and extremely predictable character, at least for me. The oblivious part is just another character trait I can't stand. The earlier parts of the series were when I still liked him a bit.

that i can understand. i think its part of why i like Akatsuki from Hagure Yuusha no Estetica, least hes got his downfalls.

Let's try not to get too hung up on people's choices, guys. Tastes are subjective and vary from person to person. So, no matter how well you argue for or against a particular character or show, you are unlikely to change people's minds. Most we're likely to get out of it is non-constructive poop-flinging.

There are a number of villains that I subjectively hate, but then again.. if they can make a villain that is so profoundly evil that it effects you, they did a pretty good job making them villains, right?
