The fox channel news loses to anything in it's time slot on any night because it is in the last hour of prime time tv. I really don't understand what you are grasping at. But way to choose the most watched event of the year as the exception to the rule.

I am grasping at the fact that fox has the same free channel you say main stream media has. So far, your only excuse is that it's in a time slot that you don't watch and that's why it loses. I instead think it's because the cable fox news network, draws so many viewers, that it's local counter part is useless. The whole point, is regardless of how you spin it, fox news has the free channel and the by far largest viewed cable network, makes it more main stream than any other network.

As to how Anthony Weiner compares to Craig, well I already told you. I'll tell you again. Anthony Weiner invited the Washington press corps to his office. He looked them in the face and lied to them. Repeatedly. He verbally abused them. He called a CNN producer a jackass. Larry Craig didn't do any of those things. That's how it compares. The press wasn't going to let it go not only because Weiner lied repeadtedly, day after day, and was an asshole to the press, the situation continued to become worse and worse. They day before he resigned one of the porn stars he had a cyber affair with held a press conference to reveal her relationship with him. The media followed it because it was a developing story. Don't you remember this? It was only a year ago. Over the course of 3 weeks or so, new details were coming out almost daily. The press kept reporting on it, because the story kept changing. Democrats, realizing how toxic it was (rightfully) asked him to step down. That's as clear as I can make it.

You are not actually saying anything bad about Crieg. You have yet to explain to me how insulting CNN is worse than holding a press conference that you will resign and than not resigning. You can easily prove me wrong by googling both and seeing the results of media reaction. You think Crieg did nothing wrong, because in three posts you have ignored it.

I do remember how the media developed the story, same thing happened with Crieg, it was a developing story with catch fraises and friendly puns. But, unlike Wiener, they let him get away with staying in office. We a gree on what Wiener did, I'm still waiting for you to aknowledge a single thing Crieg did. When did I say Craig didn't do anything wrong? Larry Craig is a bad man and should have resigned. There I said it. It doesn't change a single thing about my arguement.

There's no story with Craig. You had four events over nearly four months; his arrest and denial, his plea bargain, his intention to resign, and then his announcement that he wouldn't resign.

With Weiner, you had a three week period where the story was developing and changing daily. You had him starting off telling ridiculous and obvious falsehoods that got worse and worse as the days went on. There were people who he had online affairs with coming forward holding press conferences. Weiner's lies got more and more desperate. It was leaked that his wife was pregnant. President Obama weighed in and recommended that Weiner should resign. Weiner got more and more abusive and elusive with the press. A teenager from Delaware came out and said that she had online contact with Weiner. He announced he was seeking professional treatment. He requested a leave of absence from Congress. Top Democratic leaders called for him to step down. More women that Weiner had contact with came out and said that Weiner told them to lie to the press.

The DNC made Weiner resign, not the media. The media covered it everyday because it was a faster developing story than the Larry Craig story. It's my opinion that the media wasn't going to let the story drop, especially given the frequency and stupidity with which Weiner lied. Everyone knew he was headed for a crash. And he was a asshole. The DNC, taking all these things into consideration forced Weiner to step down.

And I'm not sure exactly how much you remember about the Larry Craig scandal; you referred to him as Daniel Craig like 3 times. Perhaps just a mistake, but it doesn't exactly help to impress me that you have a thorough recollection of the events.

I trust that you have a specific example of someone going into a "liberal organization" and attempting to shoot it up but they are stopped by security guards? And that NBC and CBS make a drastic deal about this story and Obama scheduled a press conference to specifically denounce this shooter?

No, but there is the story of the professor that got arrested (was he arrested, or just hassled? I don't remember) trying to get into his own house. The story was national news because the guy was black. The president not only commented, but outright bitched about it.

And there wasn't even a shooting. So based on this behavior, I would think it safe to assume that he would make a big deal out of an incident involving someone/thing perceived as liberal, while ignoring an incident involving someone/thing perceived as conservative. Like this shooting.

I wonder if I'd be held to such a low standard in my profession that a gross breech of ethics would not result in termination as long as it's just a one shot deal. I honestly don't know for sure, but I suspect (and hope) that the standards would be a bit higher.

It's not like anyone is forcing anyone else to donate, or even look at it. At worst maybe they're forcing you to run ad-block, but most people should be doing that anyway.
