Biochem is still the best profession by far. Until Bioware buffs the other professions, nothing compares. Remember, every other profession's #22 items are outmoded by one round of Ilum/Belsavis dailies, and most other professions have crafted gear that tops out worse than HM drops. Biochem's the only crafting profession without either of those issues.

Even when they finally fix the Exotech recipes to actually work, there is still no reason to drop Biochem - since someone needs to actually have those recipes and craft them, and as long as nothing else offers anything really worth while, it will stay like this.

The problem of course, is if they start offering good stuff in other professions, that are BoP but don't require the profession, then people will just roll through the professions and get the perks from each.

They need to make the perks (i.e rakata belts/bracers with augments) require the profession to use them, so if you drop, Armormech, you can't use your Belt with an Augment any more - and this isn't a nerf to the profession, it's just putting it in line with Biochem. That way there is actually at least *something* to compete with Biochem, it's not enough still, granted, but it means at least people won't be tempted to level it, get the augments, drop it, level another get it's perks, drop it, and so on.

A person with biochem dont use credits for anything at all, and with a well placed "exit area" ninja click u barely have repair costs.

There are no gems, no enchants. Only place to use credits its mounts and most wont care with it at all.

I suspect a heavy inflation soon ppl are already stockpilling millions of credits. Its unbelievable how badly tought out the profession eco-system is, Money isnt trading hands its just stock-pilling on most players.

Everyone I know its biochem, even if u dont raid the perks of biochemist are just too good

    Why would I change?

They nerfed it a lot sonce launch, but I't still the best, its really ridicoulus by now.
bioware should finally realise that buffing the other crew skills MAY be a better solution than nerfing biochem and still let the other skills be totally useless...

i have Artifice, for enhancement mods, but Purple Rank 22 items cannot compete with mods from Tionese gear that is easy as feck to acquire, BW need to allow us to craft versions of rank 23/24/25 modifications otherwise its just a waste of time, when compared to Biochem ofc

like for example Rank 23A or Rank 24B, similar like the ones we encountered while leveling on low level modifications

Inflation is already on my planet, a pretty well populated RP server. Schematics are so damn expensive as to be laughable, all the prices on mats are fixed. Biochem mats were 300 each as the current GTN allows abusive postings. As in, there is no penalty for not selling your auction. Well people are using that to their advantage by buying up mats and listing them in packs of 99 at 300c per item.
