My ASUS Maximus IV Extreme Z will be delivered today

I've been waiting for Ivy Bridge to come out for my new build, but it looks like I may be going with Sandy Bridge after all thanks to Ivy being a bit naff.

    I'll trade you.

Yeah, this is actually a very important part of it all. I'm sure people will share how well their various computers are running GW2 during the BWE's, I don't mind doing it if it can help people, but even then it should be taken with a grain of salt until the game has been optimized (which is typically done over time but only finalized shortly before the release).

Is that to do with them supposedly running fairly hot at 22nm due to the high wattage needed?

I've read a couple reviews that seem quite disappointed about the IB now. Thinking maybe just go with SB...

    CPU: Intel Core i7 950 3.06 GHz
GPU: Palit Sonic Platinum GTX 570 (1280MB GDDR5)
RAM: Kingston 3x2GB DDRIII 1333 MHz

With these specs GW2 ran @~30fps with a slight fps drop here and there on ultra settings and 1920x1080 resolution. I suppose things will improve though.

Would a computer with these specs atleast meet the minimum requirements?

Operating System: Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
    CPU/ Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-2450M Processor
CPU Clock Speed (Max.): 2.45 GHz
Graphics Chip: AMD Radeon™ HD6490M (PowerXpress)
    Graphic Memory: 1GB (GDDR5)
    Standard System Memory: 8GB
    Memory Type: DDR3
    Max. System Memory: 8GB

I suppose it can handle minimum.

I think your specs can't handle high settings smoothly.

I just want this to run at 60 fps not really caring about shadows but I do care about texture quality.

    Like, Hi!

Time for me to ask the dreaded question, even tho im pretty sure i will be able to scrape 3-4 fps, but still.
My old microwave is as follows:
    -Pentium Dual Core E6500 @ 2.93GHz
    -4 GB of DDR3 Ram @ 800Mhz
    -Video : nVidia GeForce 9600GT - i believe it's a 512mb or something, it's been a while since i bought it.

I am aware my CPU is slow and my ram isn't the fastest in the land, but i've had a pretty easy time running recent games. Also, if System Requirements Lab is to be believed, i do cover the minimum requirements by quite a bit, and then some.
I am actually looking forward to next weekend, so i can actually try and see how it runs. So, any thoughts on the old machine?

Thanks I've never been one to persue absolute most maximum of graphics in any game. Still, Guild wars 2 might actually be the game to change that. Aslong as it runs smoothly, i'll be happy tho.

    Mif... you do

I would suggest running with the top of the line water cooler... I recommend this:

2.53ghz dual core might lag a bit in big actiony things (i.e. 100 player WvW or bosses), it should be ok though.
It will come down to the graphics card.
