Excited
Initially I planned on a regular human elementalist, but then I discovered that sylvari had amazingly creative char creation options, so that started the whole sylvari train for me. Ill look like a fire spewing plant when I'm done
Well, no elves in Guild Wars 2, so I'll pick up a human.

With little effort, male sylvari can be made into a beauty.
I think I've decided on Sylvari as my main, though not because of this picture.
I'm going to roll a Sylvari most likely, because I find everything about them to be beautiful. And I don't mean 'Yay, plant people with flower hair, sooo pretty' I mean their forms, the animations, the way they move, their land, and their mentality (That wanderlust and desire to find who they are, as individuals while still moving forward as a people)...it's all just amazingly beautiful to me.
Edit: Humans are pretty nice to. I don't generally go human in games (Is human in real life after all, lol) but I like the concept of a tragic, almost defeated race that just refuses to give in. The Human Spirit is amazing and i love games/movies/novels that emphasis that fact! I'm not sure how Alt friendly GW2 is (I've tried to remain mostly unspoiled/away from forums and videos, aside from the ones on the official site, but as the time counts down I grow weak and find myself peaking at more and more things.) but if it is I may go with a Human ranger.

except they are too beastly. I can't even tell a male from a female in-game...
At least make them face more upright or give them more distinct hair or faces. The gender similarities are creepy imo. Never gonna play a charr!
I will be choosing human because there theme seems to be enjoyable to me.
The gender similarities make it, I don't know, actually seem like the same race?

My Charr just looks so awesome and I really enjoyed Engineer. Hope we get another test so I can try a Ranger so I make a final decision before release .
I was always going to play a norn but after the last couple of stress tests I've really come to like the char, especially the way they run.
But they wouldn't have fluent hair and manes. They aren't worgen, who were once humans. They are Charr. They widely hate humanity, they are very bestial, it's intended.
I'm sick of seeing pretty furry races tbh, I think that it's far better to see a bestial race that is actually bestial and not a human with fur.
Im an altoholic, so i will be making lots of characters to experience the full story.
Here's what ive tough of making:
Charr Guardian
Asura Mesmer
Human Necromancer
Sylvari Thief
Norn Warrior
And when I buy more slots:
Charr Engineer
Sylvari Elementalist
Norn Ranger

Sylvari because I need to express my love for the plant people, and this is the only way I know how.
My thief and guardian are going to be Asura. Everyone thief and their mom will be a human with a bit of spill over to the other races. I had a Norn thief for the BWEs, was too big. Looked weird towering over everyone while trying to stab them with daggers. Asura thieves look like small packages of terror. Their animations are also very acrobatic. The guardian is to be ironic. Most guardians will be Norn, I'm making the smallest guardian toughness specced guardian possible. Funny because I always said I would never make an Asura.
My Mesmer will be Norn because shamanism. The Mesmer is the most "mystic" of the magic classes with its illusions and stuff. Norn's are shamans who can shapeshift. Shapeshifting will be part of my Mesmers back of tricks.
My last character will be an elementalist human. Because I can. I don't plan on making a Charr of salad person.
Humans because I happen to be a member of their species, unfortunately they'll be destroyed after the dragons are gone so it feels like your saving the world for the Charr and Asura.
Asura Necromancer, because suddenly going into lich form scares the **** out of people.
Charr Thief, because of the catlike reflexes (doesn't matter if you're huge and hairy and make loud noises!).
Male Norn Mesmer, because wrestlers who wear purple always win.
Sylvari Engineer, because trees making use of industrial machines is hilarious.
Human Warrior, because of originality.
