If you were to recommend a game

...to a person that is very picky about games but still want something to play, what would you recommend?

Ignore genre preferences somewhat. You choose whether you want to include genre preferences in your recommendations, or if you want to include all(not everyone has clear genre preferences).

What game(s) do you think could catch a picky player more easily? You are also free to explain why if you want to, but you don't have to!

Just curious as to how people think if they are going to try put themselves in someone elses shoes .

These kind of people enjoy games with eye candy and repetitive action that is easily mastered. Picky gamers tend to dislike dated games, overlook gameplay and replace it with graphics. Sometimes will avoid games that originate around a heavy "nerdy" atmosphere such as WoW or StarTrek. (Unless the picky gamer is nerdy himself) These gamers are more common in console gaming

Show them a boring brown shooter and they should love it. Internet flash games and racing games work well to.

If the picky gamer is a hardcore gamer or over average gamer, they will be harder to please. They can worship fps games or live their entire lives in a MMO.
Hardcore picky gamers tend to look for games with good mechanics, gameplay, or lore/story.
They tend to despise flash/java type games ment for quick thrills, even though most of them were brought up around these kinds of games. These gamers are very common in PC gaming

To many different types of picky gamers. Some might like old NES games, others might love DDR :S -Hope this helps!
