A-Rod will make more this season than the entire Astros roster...

Opening night win for the Astros last night beating down the Rangers, looking forward to today though, Yankees v Red Sox, ton of injuries for the Yanks, a few big name departures for the Sox - but no difference in expectation for either team!

Verlander is looking like Verlander. Only 2 hits given up so far, both doubles to Mauer and Morneau, and both of those were relatively weak hits down the line to opposite field. I'm watching him pitch, and he just has insane stuff.

Let's all ride the Gish gallop.

time to bust out the checkbook for Kershaw, he's got 8 shutout innings and he just led off the 8th with a homerun to make it a 1-0 game, wow

final line, complete game 4-hit shutout, 7 Ks, game winning HR

Trying to think what's more impressive 2 HR's by Harper or one HR by Kershaw and a shutout for me no doubt it's Kershaw.

I'd go with Kershaw as well, people expect Harper to shell the bleachers, I think Kershaw would be low on the list of people expected to go yard on opening day for most if not all of us and a CG shutout, well, sorry that's damned impressive by anyone's standard. Less we say about the Yankees performance yesterday the better, it was pretty grim.

Just watched Kershaw's dinger there, wasn't cheap - almost dead centre field.

there are no easy ones in Dodger stadium, and the team had been shutout for 7 innings until Kershaw broke the tie, it was a pretty amazing performance all around
