They need at least some jackasses in the show, because for all white there has to be black, or else it wouldn't work at all.

And they can't make the mane six, or some important character do something that would be considered bad, because then the character concept would fail.

Thus they use BG ponies for that.

lolololol...I remember when my sadistic highschool English teacher made us watch that. "Anyone who gets scared can leave!" I made it to the end, but the amount of skittering students just LOSING IT over the spiders...he was roaring with laughter every time someone finally freaked out and ran.

He also did it to us with Alien (the first one) - knowing that probably only a third of us had ever seen it (because it came out the year we were born) - didn't tell us what it was, AT ALL, and did the heartbeat scene where the alien jumps out at the end - but not knowing the context, or what movie it was (he didn't tell us) and not even knowing it was going to be a xenomorph flying around the corner...lol, he was giggling his ass off when we all screamed, one guy ended up on the floor. XD
