Ever heard about the IGP? It's not needed either. I tried earlier to voltmod my 680 dc2t with a different revision bios which made it artifacting like crazy on the post but still could boot off my usb while my hdmi cable was connected to the card.
Well they're always very late with their DC2 editions so just wait I'd say.
I'd go Windforce GTX 780 to be honest. Looks quite great!

My 7870 came in today!

...Hooray!

Intel i5-3570K @ 4.7GHz | MSI Z77 Mpower | Noctua NH-D14 | Corsair Vengeance LP White 1.35V 8GB 1600MHz
Gigabyte GTX 670 OC Windforce 3X @ 1372/7604MHz | Corsair Force GT 120GB | Silverstone Fortress FT02 | Corsair VX450
awesome my request for returning my 780's got approved and i can even return it at no shipping costs if i use a selected postal office nearby
guess my main rig be offline for a few weeks :P
i'll just wait and see which card i can get my hands on first , a 780 classified or DC2 TOP.
That's like, plague or cholera!
Go Windforce. It looks better, is quieter, is cooler and looks cooler! And it cools the memory.
im kinda sceptical on gigabyte after my multiple mobo adventures .
well what kind of other cremé de la cremé highest end gpu editions are out there?
i know there's plenty of good editions of multiple brands but im going for the ultimate one(s) in this case
Something that amuses me with Gigabyte is that all their divisions are completely independent and don't communicate within each other.
Motherboard division is not in any way affiliated with GPU manufacturers. For some stupid reason.
they did stop with using unlocked bioses on any stock cards right? (iirc gigabyte and MSI were the last one with the 6xx first release series ?)
still what other options are there?
do note it's very tricky to have acces to certain models/editions of certain cards in the netherlands.
Before my reference MSI GTX 680 I had a DirectCu II HD6970.
Less than impressed with the fan curve (idle at 10%? AWESOME! Being loud at 30%? Less awesome!), the memory cooling design and the fact that it's not really much cooler for the noise than any competitor -- despite taking up an extra expansionslot.
