Speaking of the Xonar... it's nice to have a sound card again that puts out better sound than my Galaxy Nexus.

It wasn't bad, the Nexus is just noticeably crisper.

    Might be that corrosion? rofl.

The noise is just a switch, turning on. You should be able to force the sound at anytime through entering the drivers and have it switch from backports to front panel.
It does for me, at least, but I have things plugged on both sides; Do not know if that matters.

I wonder how many posts you'd have if at least half'd have been constructive and not just being amazed at new knowledge you learn or joking around. 1200?
EDIT: Above should only be interpreted as a joke, and nothing else. It's not a hint, jab or veiled insult.

the switch is part of the amplifier switching, i recognized it immediately when mine did it, my parents had a bunch of stereo equipment, and the receiver/amplifier made the exact same click when you switched sources or outputs

@tetris, isn't it a good thing to express amazement with new technology? There's a lot of people on the other hand who would try and say "WELL YOU KNOW WE STILL DON'T HAVE A STARSHIP ENTERPRISE SO PFFFFF"

Also tetris, I invite you to comb through all of my posts and see how many of them are perfectly decent posts, helping folks out in the computer forums or other such questions/answers in Rift/Gen. OT. ;P I'm a pretty decent poster. Sure I have my moments, but, I try and be a good'un.

The word of importance here is "try".

    OT (?):
Been playing with my Raspberry all morning. First free day in 3 weeks. Tried the Raspberry "Wheezy" OS and was pretty amazed. Running/playing with Raspbmc atm. Pictures incoming.

I got another addition to my sound system!

An old tape deck equalizer! Works great though. I ended up just flattening the EQ on the Xonar when my speakers are on. So, I use that tape deck EQ for just the speakers through the RCA jacks. Man this card is awesome.

That's rather round and fluffy for a tape equalizer.

First time in my life where I've encountered a pre-made PC that is actually cheaper than assembling it yourself. Holy hell.

If you were to assemble it yourself: ~14.000kr, it costs 9200kr.

Yes. I've seen that linked before. It's a good deal. I wouldn't buy it for myself, but eh.

Considering I'm paying for 53mbit, I'm fairly happy with this.

I've actually noticed it becoming quite common to find reasonably priced prebuilds around here. Especially the ones with older gen CPU's, ..Clearing the stock etc.

42 ms is pretty high considering your distance to the server.
