So shame on me for not disabling mouse acceleration as a gamer, I finally turned that thing off in control panel, Logitech driver settings and finally the registry (hard-coded into windows, who woulda thunk it?). Now I'm missing my desktop/browser clicks half the time, I can't even navigate around windows without occasionally missing buttons/icons and feeling rather confused since DPI has stayed exactly the same as before. It's so unnerving, argh!! :P

I remember sitting at one of the oldest non-TN LCD screens several years ago (for the record, I kept an CRT long past most people upgraded because of this one experience) and the latency was so bad I actually became seasick since I as well missed the icons and the mouse did not respond to what I felt I was doing. Which was why I fell into the fast-TN-panel trap once I finally plunged in with one. :P

I think $1199 is a lot for a computer with that performance.

For $1199 you should be able to get a Intel CPU or a FX-8350 and a SSD. Also I don't see the point in adding 16GB of RAM.

Bad CPU choice, should have been an 8350 or 3570K. Putting a 4150 in a PC and calling it "the ultimate gaming system" is like putting an i3 2120 in a computer and calling it that. RAM doesn't match the colour scheme of the rest of the computer. No SSD. Mediocre PSU. Doesn't need to have the Sabertooth motherboard. Guessing the AiO liquid cooler is the same Asetek OEM that the H80 uses, so that is ok.

Aside from the i3 being Sandy Bridge rather than Ivy Bridge, I don't see why not. 4150? Okay, yes. But an i3? I see no reason why it would not be an 'ultimate gaming machine'. i5s are overkill.

OK, 3220 or whatever the IB equivalent is. And for the price-tag they are demanding (1200 dollars), I'd expect an 8350 or 3570K tbh.

+ ASUS Wireless Card, All-in-one card reader.

Computer for the parents so I'm seeing how the AMD stuff works. If it's a total flop I'll buy it from them and buy Intel instead. Got a nice discount on the 840 Pro ($100 after discounts / rebates)

Finally pulled the trigger on Trinity....don't fail me now!

FM2 is really solid. I'm still sceptical toward two modules, though. If they aren't going to be gaming on them, I can't possibly see how they will ever have an issue with it. Looks neat.

I have an in-win PSU somewhere, speaking of nothing else. It's outdated by todays standards, but they are an interesting brand with too little presence imo. I recently ran it as an external PSU for my secondary GPU (HD6970+HD6950).

Yea, the case was just because it's small, will fit in the space they need it to, has a 3.5" and 5" front drive (for cd and card reader) and will fit the 2.5 and 3.5 internal drives. the integrated psu was a bonus

I have faith it'll do everything they need without harm, i'm going to test-run it while I have it and see how it does on D3 and dota2 and such though

Also, Seagate HDDs kind of have an issue with being bad. :P

I'd rather go with a WD or Samsung and be more comfortable in knowing they are most likely going to be fine.

samsung doesn't make hard drives any more, and for every person you find that doesn't like seagate, i can find one that refuses to use anything else, imo a hard drive is a hard drive, they pretty much have the manufacturing process down, either they die in a few months, or end up lasting years, doesnt really matter who makes it

Looking for drives with high MTBF is a good idea regardless.

Apart from Reds, I'd opt for Seagate drives personally. That said, neither of my drives have failed me yet, no matter what brand they were. Lucky? Yes.

Do bear in mind the CPU fan is a little noisy, that was the case for my 5600k atleast.

    Also:

Apparently my load temps are 30-32c, I don't trust that.

Pushing it to 5 GHz later today, after my driving lessons.

Case arrived, so I'll be moving it after getting a stable 5 GHz
