Anywho... here's why I am getting a monitor mount to add tons of desk space:

Maybe he ate the old owner, and Inux is now in possession of a man-eating monster!

Silliness aside, the old owner probably moved away and couldn't take it with him, so he left it out to stray.

So, for those interested (probably no one ) I installed Ubuntu just now. I attempted to give Ubuntu a 15 gig partition, but I may have given it a 45 gig partition instead -- and giving Windows a 15 gig partition instead. How does one go about seeing if I royally screwed up?

Looking at the properties of the drive in question, within Windows, it is listed as 12.0GB free of 41.8GB (it's a 64GB capacity iirc). When I log on to Ubuntu, it recognizes it as a 45 gig drive (if I'm remembering correctly). Either way, Windows nor Ubuntu is yelling at me via errors or blue screens or anything, so I think I'm okay...?

Hey I have one of those too. As it stands I have no room for a bigger desk, and I like the overall "clean" look that a monitor stand gives but it didnt even occur to me to get one til deltrus mentioned it on facebook lol.

Getting a bigger desk means sinking a lot of money.

Frankly, I don't like the stands for my monitors anyways and the Gateway likes to bounce a lot at the slightest bump on the desk.

    New desk? $100+
    Monitor stand? $40~

    Speaking about phone plans.
    I pay 38.93 USD/month and I get 12 000 free minutes, 10 000 text messages, 10 000 picture messages and 3GiB data for that.
It's a lot of money, but it's convenient not having to worry.

Is that how your usage is measured over there? strange europeans :P Here we have set amounts of dollars, eg I pay $60 and get $650 worth off calls/sms based on call/sms rates, and 2gb of data, it seems more simple to me, but then again I never really liked maths haha.

Yes, but what is $1 of calls? That would be a potentially fluid amount.

    Cool.

I've used Linux a bit at school for programming, but nothing major. I do, however, know some basics, and commands within the terminal such as "cd" and the like.
