    Well I haven't had the time really to figure it out but moving from ultra to medium made a difference in Strike at Karkand. When I was recording with broadcaster (encodes it to 50K Kbps) it was like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiABxBHf7LU At 13:11 I switched from medium to low. Somewhere around 2:28 when I was unscoping the frames were dropping below 50. And on medium somewhere around 15.23 I still had drops to 50.

    You're right if your cpu is a bottleneck dropping the graphics doesnt effect the framerate at all. But BF3 on my 780 on ultra is like this: One moment nope no bottleneck, few secs later o god 40% gpu load, ow great 99% load 120 fps, hate this game 60% load etc etc that's why I'm mainly playing on medium.

    Going back to my other issie, about ASUS not handling my RMA case because the dutch webshop imported the card from germany (i didn't know). How do other companies like EVGA / Sapphire / Palit deal with this? Is this normal, or is ASUS being really greedy here. I feel like it's greedy.

    Yeah Asus can be a bit of a bitch to deal with, I know for certain EVGA/Corsair/etc are leagues better. I haven't personally had anything I needed to RMA with Asus but heard from others.

    RMA'd my motherboard last April, it came back a week later with a few new parts on it. Like power plugs. Been running smooth as hell ever since!

    Can you take a photo by any chance? Really interested because usually companies just send a new motherboard.

    Was nothing major and they look the same. A couple PCI slots were replaced, both power plugs, nothing crazy.

    lol Xuvial

    But really, how was i supposed to know that the card was imported. This just seems like a really greedy way to dodge the warranty.

    The problem with the price difference you are proposing is a) AMD motherboards are much less expensive and b) you are comparing the top-FX versus the second-top intel. Extreme-editions/platforms aside. An i5 4670K would compare to the FX 8320 as the i7 4770K to FX 8350.

    My point remains that the performance difference for gaming - with a few specific exceptions - between AMD FX and Intel Haswell are as superfluous as the difference between Intel Haswell and Intel Ivy Bridge-E. That's all I'm saying, not that AMD is the better choice. Although I do think it's easily the better choice for the money.

    Also, without knowing or checking, that circuit board looks like something concocted in studies of electrical engineering. Or something from a stereo from the 80s.

    @Tetris 8350@5GHz doesn't even come close to an i5's stock IPC performance and you need a pretty decent cooler which is again an extra cost of 80-100$ and who knows quieter fans even. Considering that you have cheaper versions of i5's and h61 boards whatsoever you still paid more by going AMD. Since we haven't seen enough games taking advantage of more than 4 cores, the myth that AMD is better for the price/performance is again a myth.

    yeah i dont understand where you all of a sudden got this idea that the performance difference is 'superfluous'. It is not, it's just not as apparant like before because of the shift in testing. Here are some of my own tests.

    Your "cpu doesn't matter" argument is just not true for all games. Also, what faithh said, you can buy B85 of H87 boards. Yes you give up on overclocking, but the same goes for a cheap 870 board.

    Grrrrr why the hell didn't Seasonic include a 4-way SATA power cable with my PSU?! I've got 3 drives at the moment (2xSSD, 1xHDD) all being powered by a single cable, but if I want to put an extra HDD into my PC I'll have to add a whole new sata power cable just for that...

    It's not like single cable can't power 4 drives -_-

    Can't you use a 4-pin molex to s-ata power adapter?

    =>........ =>. =>

    That's supposed to be 3 cars.

    I'm the one in front, sitting. The guy behind me, is sitting.

    The guy in the back is speeding up to us, breaking, but still speeding.

    =>=>.=>

    Impact.

    =>.=>=>

    Double impact.

    Dat 3 car.

    Luckily major damage only happened to the back car, middle car took a little, I, luckily got only a couple tiny scratches on the back bumper. No one hurt. Hooray! Guy directly behind me just so happened to be a professor at my college, so naturally, we got chatting, and I've heard of him, he knows a few of my old professors. All was jolly between us. Part of me wants to feel bad for the guy in the back, but he was speeding above the limit by at least 10+... and it was raining all day. Bad move.

    No spare molex near the drives. Ended up routing another sata cable :S

    Also this monitor suddenly caught my attention:

    Asus MX299Q, 2560x1080, very high quality IPS panel equal or better than Dell's offerings in some aspects. Would be able to get some pretty crazy wide FoV in games that allow it.

    But the most impressive part was this:

    And more importantly, why were you sitting in your car? Cars are made for driving!

    Is this a joke? I didn't see him coming. I was stopped, the guy behind me was stopped. I had a guy directly in front of me. Basically, I couldn't see anything. Car behind me blocked my view of what was behind him. There was nothing I could have done, anyways, no room to get out.

    I guess I need to remind you all how America relies on car transportation and unlike Japan, we still use generally big cars, most people don't have the tiny cute smart cars or whatever.
