Scientists Cure Cancer, But No One Takes Notice

So i thought you might be interested here.
Canadian researchers find a simple cure for cancer, but major pharmaceutical companies are not interested.

Researchers at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Canada have cured cancer last week, yet there is a little ripple in the news or in TV. It is a simple technique using very basic drug. The method employs dichloroacetate, which is currently used to treat metabolic disorders. So, there is no concern of side effects or about their long term effects.

This drug doesn't require a patent, so anyone can employ it widely and cheaply compared to the costly cancer drugs produced by major pharmaceutical companies.

    From the comments:
Pharmaceutical advertising is the biggest spender in media advertising. I doubt that the mainstream media will give this story the tailwind it deserves. Hopefully the internet will provide the exposure that this discovery should receive. It is an incredible medical breakthrough. I wonder if supplementary DCA would provide protection from developing cancer?
Remember the dimethyl sufoxide business? It featured recently in Sott Focus: [Link]
DMSO is in the same situation. Unpatentable but very useful medicine, increasingly hard to obtain as it gets outlawed around the world, simply because there's no money in it and it presents competition.

Sadly, I guess DCA will go the same way.

So far i count around 5 different people who supposedly cure cancer and its just "big business" keeping it down...

Its fun how it isnt noticed in countries where its a monetary incentive to cure cancer at low cost isnt it - like places with universal healthcare...

technically they are (or used to be) bacteria so they can be considered a cell

My God, what a horrible creation. People seeing what they want? Thank God they tried to shy away from that. I know it pisses me off when I'm in an heroic raid, yet in the back of my head all I can think is 'some casual player is playing a heroic dungeon and not wiping.' -Vodkarn

This exact article crops up every month or so, and then a bunch of people swoop in and disprove it, and then the conspiracy theorists start coming in and claiming that we're hiding a cure to make drug companies rich, and a bunch of people come in and show why that's nonsense, then the next month it repeats.

It's like we're in some kind of time loop, I swear. It wouldn't be so bad if it were actually a different article each time.
'Twas a cutlass swipe or an ounce of lead
Or a yawing hole in a battered head
And the scuppers clogged with rotting red
And there they lay I damn me eyes
    All lookouts clapped on Paradise
All souls bound just contrarywise, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

Theoretically. However, they are no longer "technically" cells...but rather organelles.

In all fairness, viagra was originally made to be good for relaxing the heart in heart-disease patients, just that it wasn't all that great at it and an erection was a "side effect" that they decided to make good of

The pharmaceutical companies are making big money off of cancer patients. They don't want the cure just quite yet.

Oh please. Some venture capitalist somewhere would grab this, produce it, market it, make billions and retire.

There is no tin foil hat theory here. In addition to the story having been proven false, a company would grab this and sell it because it would make money. There is no vast conspiracy to keep humanity sick.

The average pills and treatment a cancer patient receives over time, are far pricer than this "cure". The pharmaceutical companies know this.

Please link to article on boner pill!

BTW- my company sells DMSO. It is a very effective organic solvent which can dissolve resins that are resitant to acids. Not sure what type of medicine that makes it!

I'm no conspiracy theorist by a long shot, however the cure vs. ongoing treatment situation is one that might actually have some meat to it.

    Capitalism.

What incentive would a private company have to sell an inexpensive cure for cancer, when they can continue to provide extremely expensive ongoing treatments? I'm not saying that's happening, and this article surely doesn't prove anything, but think about the ramifications for the pharma industry if cancer were cured.

money they stand to lose if but a single company produces it - do you really think they would ALL do nothing or do you think atleast one of them would make money off it before the others...

How about by curing people of cancer it allows them to keep them alive longer to sell them their other products for longer?

I thought we already had the cure to cancer, it just never appears? I was under the impression that Chuck Norris's tears cured cancer.
