2 questions about this ability.

1) Does Cunning of the Cruel proc it?
2) What is the optimal way for an affliction warlock to use this ability on normal and heroic?

1) I would assume so, RNG hates me so I have no way to test it

2) Soulburn:Seed of Corruption > Shadowflame > Rain of Fire.

I am terrible at reading logs. To me that looks like it does proc it. Why did you conclude it doesn't?

The gap between the CotC proc and the Spellweave proc is 1.7s and 3.1s. Even though it doesn't show (because I'm filtering it), I am concluding that it procced from something that happened after the Shadowbolt Volley. I'm just too lazy to look up what it might have been. Regardless, both the Shadowbolt Volleys going off around the same time (.17s apart), but having their subsequent Spellweaves show up 1.4s apart should be a telling clue.

Affliction is definitely shadowburned Seed + flame + rain of fire. Keep in mind, hellfire doesn't proc it, so if you ever go demo, you'll still be using rain of fire.

On normal you might gain more from just doing SF + RoF if the dps is too high!

I've had my best results by pre-loading all of the blood with BoA, getting UA on as many as possible, then SB-SoC and shadow flame the pack as they're getting dragged over to the parasite, followed by rain of fire.

On normal the bloods usually die so fast that shadowflame alone or shadowflame with rain of fire will do the trick ... on heroic it depends on your raid .. now its relativly easy with the 10% debuff on them

For heroic your best bet is to SB:SoC the adds as soon as they spawn, and get a shadowflame on them. Spellweave will proc as you finish killing the Mutated Corruption, but you don't want the adds dead yet. When the parasite spawns shortly after, wait for all the adds to regen to full, shadowflame them again, then start SoC spamming the parasite or just single target it. Single targetting is probably a little better due to the speed at which they die, and because any remaining parasite health has to be single targetted down regardless.
