This is my only caveat with anything you said. It isn't that you can drink beer while watching it that makes me discredit stock car racing as being on the same level as other pro sports. It is that you HAVE to drink beer to watch it or 6 hours of guys driving around a circle will make you kill something. NASCAR is mindnumbingly boring without alcohol. I don't feel that way about any other "sport" and I include tennis, golf, etc. in that.

Well you can drink watching, doing not so much
Watching badminton (fucked if I can spell tonight), makes me cry blood, but it's a sport. At least tennis has woman in outfits grunting....

I can agree with you to a certain point about NASCAR races being so long that I'm unable to watch through the whole race at times. I tend to sneak in watching the last 50 laps or so.

But golf, that's a sport that I definitely can't stand watching in entirety, even though I do follow up on golf news.

A sport doesnt have to be athletic your confusing things. A sport is a competitive event that has set rules. And yes playing WoW can be a sport and some parts of WoW are. Arena tournaments, E-sports. Yes sitting at a computer playing a game is a sport. Doesnt make it an athletic sport but its a sport nonetheless

Totally agree with you. Actually watched some NASCAR today down in Virgina I think didn't catch the whole race but it was enjoyable.

I don't know much about NASCAR but motor racing is sport so by that logic yes.
however I don't like it, Oval tracks are not that interesting to look at.

and about physical fitness, if I compare it to other racing like Formula 1, those guys have to be very fit.
driving those cars is physically very draining (they experience a lot of high G forces) and you have to stay focused for about 55 laps (which is 2-3 hours).

the difference between Sports and Games is like the difference between Fruits and Vegetables.
everyone knows what is a fruit and what is a vegetable but the difference between them is minimal and there are some borderline things that show this, (is a tomato fruit or vegetable?)
