Thread: Muscle Memory

    Muscle Memory

    Club•40 Energy, Melee Range, Instant
•You Club the target with your two Maces, dealing 1,509 damage and generating 1 Chi.

    Jab•40 Energy, Melee Range, Instant
•You Jab the target, dealing 139 damage and generating 1 Chi.

    Sever•40 Energy, Melee Range, Instant
•You Sever the target with both of your axes in one attack, dealing 1,526 damage and generating 1 Chi.

Muscle Memory (LVL 72)•Your fighting technique improves over time during combat. Anytime you Jab a target from behind, your chance to critically hit with Jab increases by 1% for 30 seconds. This effect can stack up to 100 times.
•Leaving combat or an encounter will clear your Muscle Memory.

So these Chi generators seems to be our primary filler attacks? And it seems, from the description of this ability, that muscle memory only works for Jab. But even if it always crits (100% from stacking), would it be superior to let's say Club or Sever such that it would replace those for filler?

    Mastery: Combo Breaker (LVL 80)
Grants an 11% chance for Jab to cause your next Tiger Palm to cost no Chi, or your next Blackout Kick to cost no Chi and be usable on targets regardless of their health percentage.
Each point of Mastery increases the chance by an additional 1.4%.

As written mastery only works off of Jab, so that's a big incentive to use it.

I think those numbers may be placeholders still. We don't know how, or if, they scale with weapon damage. Its to early to tell which generator is better, too much data is missing concerning the numbers and mechanics.

right. the mastery just gives more incentive to use jab, like you said. so then what's the piont of club or sever?

jab club sever clobber and pike are all different names for the same ability (jab) which changes base on your weapon.

likely the damage shown is from different ranks or weapon calculations

i have confirmed that jab changes names to atleast clobber and club, personally, at blizzcon.

That would make sense, otherwise all those other attacks would be pointless.

    So is it:
    Jab - 2 * Fist Weapons
    Clobber - Staff
    Club - 2 * One Handed Maces
    Pike - Polearm
    Sever - 2 * One Handed Axes

Also what is it for One Handed Swords since those are all listed as usable on the Blizz website description of the Monk?
