The 1 to 5 old guys in the locker room that hang out butt ass naked for hours. Bending over often putting their feet up on the bench next to you to talk to you stuff like that.
"Privilege is invisible to those who have it."
Turns out people have a lot to complain about what happens at the gym. :P
I hate, with all my being, the people who use a machine for their sets and then sit there for 5 minutes or whatever while they rest without getting up so I can quickly get on the machine, get off, and go to my next exercise in my circuit. And they do this for all 3 of their sets. They literally just SIT there for 5 minutes, do reps for 60 seconds, and sit there again. RRAAAAGGGGEEEEEE
Bad form! I always try to take criticism from people and do my own research, but a 150kg squat with bad form is not as effective as my 150kg squat with good form :/ Plus machine clanging is disgusting -.-
People that talk to me and expect a response during a set. I'm trying to control my breathing, don't make me waste air responding. I've never had a problem with space. Guess the big black guy thing must intimidate people lol.
sporty people, or people on sport degrees who think because sport is their life they know more. when in reality most know what works for them / their sport only.
people who act tough and strut around showing off about what they are lifting
People who do a set of chest press then check their abs in the mirror >.>
People who think im shallow whilst watchign my form in a mirror (sorry for not wanting imbalances / injuries!)
People who dont wipe sweat off of the machine / benches
People who think they are the man lifting alot of weights on machines.....yet never or cant do free weights / cable machines as they have never worked a supporting muscle in their life xD
really unfriendly people who wont answer one simple question even if its just 'how many set you got left?' (never ask during a set ofc)
I used to train anywhere from 3-10 times a week depending on what i was doing ( the 2 sessions a day 5 days a week splits were horrible! awesome gains in strength but damn you have to eat alot and not be doing other sport at the same time) i was lucky in that i was in a small gym where all the instructors were friends of mine or my bro and were all sport science / physio post grads who also all played some sport at national levels and were just workign there whilst lookign for a proper job ^^
only very friendly old dudes who i loved chatting too, or a few little squirts who the moment they tried acting tough or showing off me or a friend would convieniently use the bench or machine next to them and destroy their ego whilst only doing warm up sets xD
I miss the gym junkie days, laods of knowledgable down to earth people who always had some cool or crazy new exercise or set to shake everything up!
O yeh people who go to the gym and destroy themselves before i night out, get shit faced and then show off about how hard they worked out the next day when they hurt not realising its just because the drinking slowed their recovery so much......so many people are ignorant to the potentially massive reduction in protein synthesis / muscle recovery after drinking (upto around 70% in some people if i remember right)
O and idiots who think protein shakes are 'steroids'....and tell me to go eat chicken or steak instead...which is just expensive less effective source of protein that i have to wait too long after training to take to get the maximum benefits / recovery!

o one more! people who think that they are better because they have naturally bigger muscles or thats all they trained for...the number of times peoples jaws drop when your alot smaller than them yet lift alot more or the same at higher reps or something, i always found funny

But that's normally people that visit at my house and see me preparing it.
1. The guys who drop their weights from waist high. The noise startles everyone and is annoying as fuck. NO ONE THINKS YOU'RE COOL!
2. The guys who scream or grunt really loud when lifting. The guy next to you is pushing up twice the weight and he isn't screaming.. so you don't need to either.
3. The girls who show up in full make up and perfume, with hair that looks like they came from a salon. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate a beautiful woman, but this isn't a fucking nightclub. Anyone who planned to sweat wouldn't wear that.
4. All the "Bro's" in their backward caps and tribal tats, calling each other "bro" 5 times per sentence, and bench pressing 300 instead of trying to put some muscle on the chicken legs they always have. "PUSH IT BRO, YOU GOT IT BRO, come on, you suck at flipcup bro, so you better get swole bro or you aren't getting laid, bro."
I
hate
the
music
and
TV.
LA Fitness; their background music is rage fuel. Their sexist brainwash pop and mainstream TVs flickering with biased mainstream media and superficial persons on reality shows running all day make me want to see how good I am at leaping up to tear the speakers from their acoustic paneling.
People who go to the gym.
Look at you. Thinkin' you're all better than me because you're "healthy" and "taking care of yourselves".
Shut up and no once cares.
Signed.
Another Disgusting Fat Body.
I'm truthfully just bitter I couldn't hack it at the gym. But I always hated the person who would come up and give the unsolicited advice. Specifically the male/female bodybuilder duo (Probably named Hans and Helga) who out of nowhere while I was doing halfassed curls decided to critique me on my form and amount of weight I was using. It was my second day in the gym.
I promptly decided that I get enough exercise watching my toon run around in game. lulz.
As a NSCA CPT-D and CSCS-D (certified personal trainer with honors and certififed strength and conditioning specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association) I laugh at the people who have been lifting for a few years and think they know all there is to know about lifting. While I am not active in the field anymore, but I still get the monthly research mailings and attend the conferences because they're enjoyable to go to with a few former fellow professionals, the new research that comes out proves some training methods ineffective and vice versa!
And for those of you complaining about people grunting, screaming and/or yelling, research has proved that these noises increase muscular strength by roughly 8%. When you think about a guy squatting 400lbs, that means that you can add roughly 32lbs to a maximal effort lift. So, that being said, I will continue to grunt yellow and increase my adrenaline levels during lifting...

Lol I go to LA Fitness too. I actually like it though since it's alot cleaner and more space in-between machines and benches then the other gym I used to go to. But yea, the music sucks. I hear Britney Spears End of World and 3ElhoE (or whatever they're called)'s My First Kiss EVERY day pretty much for the past 8 months...
edit: And that stupid "I work out" song.
