    How do YOU pronounce it?

Beta! I've heard it said a few ways, but how do my fellow mmo-c'ers pronounce beta?

    [Beh-tah], being Swedish and all.

Bay-ta. Heard some fellow Englishman call it Beeta, but that does not sound right to me.

    Bay-tah

Hmm, not quite like that. There is a bit more emphasis on the "t", so perhaps more like "ba-tah" with the first "a" being hard.

As an American I say bay-ta, most Europeans I know say it either as bee-ta, or depending on their accent, beeter :P

Bay-tah (long "ah" sound for the second syllable), though people probably hear me say "bay-dah".

And I wonder why people always peg me as being a Texan when I'm out of state (at least when the obligatory "y'all" hasn't been thrown out yet).

It's Bee-ta. There is no debate here people, if you pronounce it differently, you're doing it wrong.

    [Bay-ta]
Because that's how the Greeks pronounced it.

I don't think Ancient Greek had an "ay" sound.

I guess its bee-ta and O-mee-ga and the Greeks have been wrong since they invented it?

Yees, but that would also be how you pronounce something spelled beta in Swedish. Additionally, beta in Swedish means "beet" (as in beetroot), so we have another frame of reference there.

Personally, I say beetah, having lived in England for a few years.

Well the Greeks used a different alphabet anyway, however it has much in common with the Latin one that is the base for today's alphabets. What I'm trying to say is, they would've pronounced the "e" like "e(h)" and not like "ee".
