If you buy a game off Origin/Steam, can you buy DLC from the opposite?

I bought Gotham City Imposters on Origin about two weeks ago (Great game, worth every penny), and now they have a sale on Steam for it and the DLC's. I want to buy a DLC for it from the Steam sale, but will it work? Asking because I heard some Origin games can't be played thru Steam, even if the game is sold on both sites so wondering if the DLC's would work?

Yes you can.

Once you buy the DLC, it will give you some cd keys on steam which you will need to redeem at the Xbox for Windows. (Aka Games for windows live, but it's consolized so I call it that :P)
