Biggest loss in my time playing last night. 28B and my capital freighter. YAY...

I was carrying the Isogen from a corp mining weekend to Dodixe along with some modules. Had a few scouts but it's not particularly easy to distinguish who's going to attack when you're in a packed area of space.

I was pretty much dead before the escort had time to do anything.

The Isogen and modules came to 28B, yes.

Most of it was Isogen and a few expensive modules. At least 12-15B of it was the Isogen though.

Hate to say it but you kinda asked for it, ships to suicide a freighter will run you what, a billion or two at most.

I'm thinking of starting EVE again. I've tried picking it up pretty much every year since 2006 or so, but only ever played 1-2 months at a time and then taking a long ass break, coming back, and having to relearn everything all over again. I have a Pilot I created back in 2009 which is the one I've played longest, and you can get an idea of how much I've played by the fact he has only 11 million SP so far.

I think the biggest issue I have with eve is the social aspect. The fact that you can't really ever trust anyone ingame including your own corpmates kind of puts me off the game, as I never really feel safe enough doing any group content. I've never been too good at making isk and I've never been able to focus my skill plans leading me to be able to fly various ships but only just barely. I think last thing I was training for was the "new" t3 battlecruisers at the time, as I found the Naga amazing. I was in Eve University at the time and tbh I wasn't too impressed with that experience. The majority of my time has been spent doing missions (3s in a Drake while working on my Gunnery/bs skills to get a Rokh to jump into 4s as I find the Raven ugly as hell), but I've also been training various things along the way like Stealth Bombers, Assault Ships (still don't know what to do with them but I really like the look of the Merlin and Rifter hulls so yeah... why not), and crosstraining into pretty much everything because I can't decide if I like guns, missiles, drones, or lasers most and keep changing my mind.

Anyway, pretty much I guess I want to play again, because I find it to be a really cool game with lots of things to do, but I don't know how to get into doing said things. I prefer smaller ships, and I think the largest I ever intend to fly is a Battleship (I thing the Abaddon looks amazing, but as I fly mostly Caldari I've been slowly skilling towards the Rokh), but prefer cruiser or smaller. Mostly combat based stuff, as I find industry boring and can't for the life of me figure out the trading side of things.

I think one of the main reasons I continue to play Eve is because Ive played with my brother, wife and 5 other people steadily for almost 7 years now. Eve is a game of patience and you really have to be in it for the long haul or you will just burn out on it. The best thing though is that there is just so much you can do, you are only limited really by your imagination and time. It also helps to have a wife that absolutely loves industry and a corp that owns a large chunk of null and knows how to treat their people and alliances well for being loyal and active.

Doing lesser hauls is the solution, making the risk vs reward ratio work in your favor, jump freighter can help as well if you have access to one.

Theory on the eve-o forums that Odyssey will release access to Jove Space. That would be pretty cool, as my favourite expansion was Apocrypha.

I would take any theory from the eve-o forums as a grain of salt, though I know there is a lot of interest with the Jovian Empire. Most likely in a far off expansion.

Seems they're mostly focusing on revamping exploration plus whatever "A rebalance of major areas of space from highsec to nullsec include changes in exploration sites, industrial resources, some types of NPC loot" will mean.

I just hope the drone changes happen this expansion.

Love the design of the Gnosis battlecruiser, just kinda a pity it's kind of a jack of all trades, master of none which means the Tengu will still be beast for exploration.

Well lucky you can just squeeze it in :P

I just decided on an ambitious plan for one of my alts to become a sub BS god. All Gunnery support skills V, missile support skills V, shield and armour tank skills V, all the important drone skills V, the others IV. Will take some time but when she is done she will be able to fly all hulls up to battlecruisers. Once that's done I'll do racial battleships.

My first carrier kill..It was so exciting, we got tip about this carrier and the location of the WH entrance luckily it was 4 jumps out from Jita, we kept going back and forth buying torps from there and coming back to own him. All his corp got owned in the process while they were trying to defend him. Stealth Bombers FTW!
