I like it, but I dislike it at the same time. What Synthaxx said is true, it will become the next Hawkstrider because it is just another Hawkstrider. People loved the Yak idea. It was a new model, it wasn't a reskin and recolor. I don't usually complain about reused models, but with the overwhelming support I've seen for the Yaks, I'm quite disappointed with this.

That said, it's beta and can still change. Nothing in particular will stop me from getting the mount, but I'll stick with using my Swift White Hawkstrider instead...

Yaks use the shoveltusk animations. They are not 100% new models.

If it fits with the theme of the expansion, how does that mean they are running out of ideas? They already had a land-bird mount model and they were probably wondering what skin they could put on it to fit the expansion--a crane (or ibis) works quite well for that.

Damn, I love herons and cranes are about as close as we've come to them in WoW, but I can't stop using Rivendares Deathcharger.

Certainly a nice addition though.

for example: they added the JC Panther... which is a fresh idea. but then they make a flying panther mount.. which is the same as the JC panther but with wings on it (that dont even fit it) and its a 'parody' of the winged guardian cuz its practically the same but just other species of cat.. thats an example of running out of ideas. the crane is the same issue.. the crane is like a hawkstrider/lovebird parody but just asian themed.. and later.. we will ride ostriches XD

Well, they could do that thing they did back in the day when certain oddly sized races couldn't ride on particular mounts. Like when Tauren couldn't ride on the Hawkstrider.
