    [Open SRP] Crusader's Pinnacle

A Dragonhawk protected by red and black armor plates sored through the frigid air of the icecrown glacier. The birds rider slowly maneuvered his mount through the tricky winds of the mountains. The elf had difficulties finding his destination because of the ongoing snowfall. As he was able to see the tower, he steered his companion to land next to it. He was greeted by one of the Guards of the Argent Crusade. the human took the reins of his Dragonhawk, and led the mount towards a shoddy wooden stable. "This tower has indeed seen some battle since I was here the last time."
The bloodelf addressed the captain of the guard.
"I am here to help you with fortifying the tower. Your envoys in Dalaran mentioned the scourge remnants were getting more aggressive?" The Soldier nodded. "That is correct so far, sir elf. We had several skirmishes with the remnants and loosing this outpost would make it difficult to keep track on scourge movement. So we asked for help with fortifying our hold." The paladin nodded at the guard captain. He would surely explain their task in more detail, when enough people to help out would have arrived.

((I'd like to try an open rp for a change. I'll pretty much make it up as we go. Let's see where we land.))

The snow fell profusely; a figure rode an armored gryphon through the high winds and mountainous peaks. High up, the figure held up a lantern to illuminate the path ahead of him. From his dark robes he pulled a tattered piece of parchment and reads, "Crusader Pinnacle, the legendary staging area of the Argent Crusade." The man took a deep breath and felt for his weapons that laid on his back, two war-hammers, each with their own names. Below, the man could see the tower and beckoned his gryphon to begin it's arrival. The snow seemed to lessen during the descent, as if some force was breaking the will of Icecrown. The man and his mount landed, a flight master calmed the gryphon as the man jumped off the creature's back. He removed his hood to reveal a brown, army style haircut, short and cut straight. He also had a short beard as well, eyes grey. A crusader comes to welcomed him, "I am Aldean of the Grey, I'm here to help in securing the tower."

"Good to see another strong arm arriving. Why don't you head into the tower to warm yourself. You'll be out in the cold long enough."
Khorianas was straightening his posture, as he saw the human arriving. While he still loathed most of the humans, he still was willing to cooperate with them when it came to hitting the scourge. The elf slightly nodded at the new arrival and entered the tower. The bunk beds were no longer occupied by dying Horde and Alliance soldiers but by a few wounded Argent troopers. They were tended to by an elven healer. The healer turned around and his blue eyes stared at Khorianas' tabard. They narrowed as they recognized the blood falcon. The bloodknights intact eye also shot a cold gaze towards the Quel'dorei. "By the sunwell, why do they have to be everywhere I go?" Khorianas thought to himself. The bloodknight unbuckled the sheath of his bastardsword and put it next to a chair on which he sat down. As he always did when he was at unease, he drew the simple hunting knife he was carrying, and started sharpening it, not that it would have been necessary. As he slowly drew the blade over his whetstone, he was able to calm down.

((Waiting for more people to arrive))

From a far distance a rider approached out of the falling snow. Geared with silver plate armor and a huge sword on his back you could see it was a male human. Arriving at the Crusader's Pinnacle and hoping off his horse he looks around him. "Well that's a long time ago i have been here" Walking to the stable master near the tower and putting his horse on a safe spot he walked into the tower. Looking around him he was some persons. "Good day everyone, let me introduce my self. I am Crusader Mike Helson and i am here to help to repel the scourge atacks on the tower.

Down the hill A large figure could be seen forcing its way through the deep snow, leaning heavily on a staff.
As the figure got closer the party could make it out to be a large male tauren, who appeared to be draped in bark.
The Tauren made his way closer to the tower, finding it easier as the snow became more trampled from the coming and goings of the inhabitants.
He paused, and the party could see him close his eyes, and his hands glowed green. Shortly after he stood up straighter, all signs of fatigue gradually disappeared.
The aged Tauren made his way to the tower entrance, "Greetings, I am Hobb, a Druid of the Cenarian Circle, originally from the Mistruner tribe, sent here to assist against the scourge upon the direction of the Malfurion Stormrage"

The paladin only paid attention to the new arrivals with a casual look up from his blade. While he was annoyed at seeing another human, the presence of an additional non human, even if member of a neutral faction, was a relief for the pladin. While the other two were intrudicing themselves, the silence was broken by the occasional groan of one of the wounded. Khorianas has seen his bandages being drenched in a red liquid, which he thought was an antiseptic, but with the inceasing weakness in the injureds voice, he concluded it might be blood. "If it is blood, it will be over soon." The wounded was a human, and while the Argent Crusade would always keep the paladin's support, he would say nothing this time, since the death would be to blame on the damned High elf. The captain of the guard entered the Tower shortly after Hobb, and saw that the party was likely big enough to undertake his task. Just as he was about to raise his voice, the sound of a bell being rang rapidly was heard from the outside. Khorianas' ear twitched shorty, and he dropped his whetstone. The elf darted up from the chair and grabbed the handle of his bastardsword with his free hand. While he lifted the sword with its sheath at first, a quick push of his thumb let the cover slip off the blade to reaveal a razor sharp, curved edge. With the blade still lowered, and his knife sheathed again, the elf pushed aside the captain standing in the door, to see what the noise was about.
As he arrived outside, he was able to make out a rather big group of raised soldiers ascending towards the pinnacle in the snowfall. A wicked grin formed around the corner of his mouth as he slowly led his extended middle and index finger towards the flat side of his edge. Starting from the hilt, he slowly drew the tips of the two fingers along the blade, and with his touch the blade started to slowly resonate with a red golden glow. As he was nearing the tip of the blade a faint humming could be heard as if the blade attuned to the magic. As his fingers stopped touching the blade, the light seemed to receed into the blade, empowering it. The elf then lowered the blade again and darted towards the attackers.

((Here we go, the group attacking consists of sceletal soldiers for now, no real threat to the party, just throw yourselves into the fray.))

Hobb turned, startled as a bell started ringing loudly, and watched as the Blood Elf eagerly unsheathed his large two handed sword and made for the door to see what the comotion was about.

"Some people are too eager for violence" Hobb mused to himself, but once he saw the Blood Elf infuse his sword with magic the druid understood the Blood Elfs enthhusiasm. Of course a Paladin would be quick to jump at the chance to cleanse the world of the undead Scourge. . .

Hobb tightening his grip on the gnarled leaf covered staff in his hand, flowers blooming from the wood as if in reaction to the druids resolve, as he followed the Blood Elf Paladin out of the tower to see the risen horde before them, pausing momentarily to look back at the wounded.

Hobb firmed his resolve - "If the Paladin cannot deal with the potential theat outside healing these wounded will not help as it will take too long for these soldiers to be of any real use again" Thought the Tauren, deciding to go and help the paladin to ensure the safety of the wounded. He can return to the wounded soon enough...

The druid raised his free hand, and started mumbling under his breath, calling for the powers of nature to assist him, as he started to direct his spells.

As the Paladin neared the fray Hobb empowered him further with the power of nature, marking him as one of the wild.

Not knowing the battle prowess of the Paladin, Hobb went on to call the dormant plant life under the snow to aid him, and thick, gnarled and thorny roots burst forth, wrapping around the legs of the attackers, keeping them at bay while his Blood Elf companion dealt with the foes at hand . . .

As Khorianas dashed towards the undead, his sword was nearly touching the freshly fallen snow, as he loosely held it with his right hand. As he was nearing his striking distance, his right hand clenched around the upper handle, and his left hand slowly reached for the pommel.
Suddenly, the snow under the undead broke open and thorny roots slung themselves around the rotten boots and bones of the soldiers. The bloodknight knew that the roots must have been summoned by the cenarion druid. Even though he knew about their skills, he wa still amazed how they found life in the most barren lands.

A dry groan from one of the risen ripped the paladin out if his thoughts. As he made the last step into striking distance, he led his blade in a wide arch upwards. The rusty, shoddy armor of the skelettal soldier he hit was not able to withstand the blade. The paladins blow shattered the brittle pelvis and spine of the undead, splitting the remains of his chainmail, and severing the risens right arm in the process. With a quick turn on his heel, Khorianas spun around and brought down his blade on another skelettal soldier. This time, a quick slash lobbed off the skull of his enemy. Kicking down the now headless body with his boot, Khorianas used the pulse of the kick to push himself back, getting some distance between him and the other skeletons. As he gained stable footing in the freshly fallen snow, by twisting his heels into it, he watched the fallen skeleton's wounds smolder with the golden red fire of his enchantment. He smiled as he leaned on his front foot, bracing himself for the next attack of the undead.

Mike followed the others out of the tower, when outside he looked to the Blood elf and the Tauren that already started defending the Crusader's Pinnacle. Grabbing his sword he looked into the sky and then started to charge to the group of scourge that where trapped by the tauren's roots.

With his sword he hits one of the skeletons pulling off one of his arms. Avoiding and blocking some attacks with his sword he looked at his side to the blood elf paladin and then swipe his sword again to the scourge skeletons.

Hobb glaced to his side as one of the Humans charged past him towards the undead enveloped with the druidic roots, marking the human as friendly to nature, alowing the human to be enhanced with the power of nature.

Keeping an eye on both the human and the blood elf, watching them both fight the undead. As the Blood Elf decapitates one of the undead and creates space, another onslaught of undead runs to attack. As the Blood Elf readies himself for the attack Hobb casts a ward spell to help protect him, before calling upon natures wrath to try and stop the advance.

The druid can feel the power of nature flowing through him, building in the palmof his hand, once the power is stabalised Hobb pics a target and sends forth natures wrath against an unsuspecting skelleton, knowing full well that such spells are not his speciallity, but wanting to help protect his unlikely comrades non the less

Aldean slowly emerged from the tower and gazed before him. A large melee between mortals and undead engulfed the hillside, he smiled in a amusement. The man reached for his two hammers and slowly lifted them to engage. He thrusted his head forward to lower his helm's visor, the fog of his breath exited the slot in the armor, moving faster and faster as his excitement intensified. "Raaaaaahhh!!" He screamed as he raced past his allies and into the undead lines. He smashed skeleton after skeleton, each impact with his hammers caused an explosion of dust and armor fragments. He saw there was a tauren druid acting as a healer and decided he can be more reckless. He threw himself at the undead as he felt the blessing of nature upon him. Who cares if they're Horde? Today, we fight the Scourge. For now.

Khorianas was busy fending of a few more foes as Aldean clashed into the main force of the scourge. The paladin couldn't help but smile, as he slit up another undead. Not exactly the way he would have gone on about it, but he couldn't argue the effectiveness.

Just as the odds seemed to even out between undead and the defenders, an earsplitting shriek was heard from above. The bloodknight didn't even need to see upwards to know what was approaching

    "Gargoyles!"

The undead aerial assault was lauchned by half a dozen of the bat like creatures who where thorwing unholy magic at the defenders. One of them snagged a guard from the ground and threw him straight into the pikes of some of the scrouge soldiers. Khorianas looked around and took one of the shields the fallen scourge soldiers carried. The irony, that it was an alliance kiteshield didn't escape him. He rose the shield just in time to catch one of the projectiles which stillmade him stumble backwards a few steps.

((Next wave of attackers, 6 gargoyles and still some of the shock troops left. The Gargoyles will be enacted by me. PvP combat rules apply in this case. Let's assume everyone picks one gargoyle at a time for now. And since they are 6 You may join the fray right away Palapwn. Happy hunting ))

Robert let out a heavy solid breath as he and Snap reached the top of the pass. Crusader's Pinnacle....if any Light worshiper can understand my needs surely the ones still here in Icecrown can... Clothed in a heavy white fur cloak and matching boot covers, if not for brown pack and quiver full of arrows on his back he would blend almost seamlessly into the snow beneath his feet. Snap looked more like a pack mule than a turtle walking beside him. He didn't like making Snap carry so much but the cold up here was more than they ever had experienced in Hillsbrad and Snap needed the extra cover. However the scene greeting him was not one he expected. He waved slightly to Snap to move back down the hill and out of sight as he drew his bow and notched an arrow. Snap obeyed although with quick jerk of his head in disagreement.

His vision sharpened, over the last months he had master this particular aspect, and he took in the battle. The first sight of the gargoyles was a slight shock but their bat like wings and human like bodies put him at ease. After all he had shot down bats and men before and knew their weak points, Robert could only hope they shared some. A tall plated elf took Robert's focus as he stumbled back as a dark bolt collided with his shield. Exhaling he took aim at the small nook that formed where their wings connected within their arm pits. Pulling back hard, he released the arrow. A single drop of a green poison fell to the snow as the arrow took off.

((Wanted to try and revive Robert here a little bit. Missed RPin with him.))

Roberts arrow was a completely unexpected hit for the gargoyle. The beast shrieked in agony as the arrow split the flesh in its arm pit. Wildly flapping with the other wing the creature tried to keep its altitute but the attempt was futile. It rapidly lost height and and crashlanded within the shock troops.

Seeing one gargoyle going down, two others scanned the area for the source of the arrow. As one of the winged monsters saw Robert, still holding his bow, it let our a short shriek to alert his ally. Both of them then flung a shadowy green bolt at Robert. While most of the Gargoyles seemed to concentrate on the new threat, Khorianas started fighting his way to the downed gargoyle, to finish it off. Yet the undead were intelligent enough to block his direct path with their sheer mass. As the bloodknight was stemming himself against the undead, one of the gargoyles chose the Tauren as potential target and swooped down on him.

    ((welcome aboard Nonfic))

Hobb was as surprised as the gargoyles when one was shot down by the Hunters arrow.

Knowing his rooting spells would be ineffectual against airborne opponents, Hobb had to think of what he could do to help the defenders. He doubted his recent experiments with spells from Aviana would be effectual, as he hadn't mastered them yet. But he HAD to do something...

"I hope this works" Murmered Hobb under his breath, as he once again closed his eyes, summoning forth the power of Nature, this time praying to Aviana.

Hobb then swelled with power as he then raised his arms towards to Gargoyles and let forth the spell, hoping the winds would come forth as they had done when he had practiced, not knowing what effect such a spell would have against the flying beasts. . .

    ---------- Post added 2012-05-09 at 03:43 PM ----------

((FYI - I'm writing Hobb's Profile out atm, the "wind" spell described above is basically part of his experiments in new magics having been told that his peers in the druid community have nothing further to teach him, so he is experimenting with wind based spells, so not quite cyclone, think more along the lines of [gust] in pokemon =p))[COLOR="red"]

Darren Frostwhisper, as he reached the top of Crusader's Pinnacle, gasped in surprise.
It seemed like a war was occurring. Undead versus Alliance and . . . Horde?
What in the name of Dalaran . . . Darren could not fight down the sense of fear welling up inside of him as he took in the Gargoyles and the hordes of undead that seemed to pour forth in an unstoppable tide.
The Dalaran archmage noticed, for the first time, a Tauren Druid, Blood Elf Paladin clothed in scarlet - a Blood Knight, at best - and a Human Warrior. Off to the side was a Human Hunter and . . . a turtle? Darren shook his head, and forced down his fear, taking a deep breath. The archmage reached for the blood elf's consciousness, and spoke in his thoughts.
Do not fear, paladin . . . I am here to help you.
Darren, clothed in thick wool to keep the cold away, blinked snow from his eyes as the huge snowflakes pounded against him in the frigid winds. Damned snow, he swore, pulling his hood back to reveal wavy brown hair. He raised both his gloved hands, and murmured a spell.
Knowing frost spells would likely do little, he called forth fire, summoning mini volcanoes beneath the feet of the undead, wreaking havoc with them and melting much of the snow, though that was replaced almost instantly with the fresh, falling snowflakes. Next, he summoned balls of fire, handling them with a practised ease, and began tossing them at the undead. He estimated that the Gargoyles were being kept busy by the others, and decided to help lessen the situation elsewhere.
The scent of charred, burnt flesh permeated the air even as risen after risen soldier fell, flames licking at their rotting bodies.
