I didn't add the rest before you replyed but like I said as well.

Also by marketing your game a hell of a lot better then they have. Just like SWTOR they are wanting the hipe/IP to bring the players and just because its ESO dose not mean its going to sell or be worth a dam.
Sorry but to me at lease this feels like SWTOR 2.0

I don't think they would mind actually, since SWTOR revenue wise is by far the most successful MMO in the West after WoW.

Only after it went f2p tho.

In order for SWTOR to be successful it had to hit dam near rock bottom and drop under what was it 300k subs. It was forced to go f2p and even shitted all over the f2p community.

As a f2p MMO SWTOR is a huge success but as a p2p MMO it failed and hard. ESO dose not want to repeat this.

No even the first year it made tons of revenue (~$250 million in the first 6 months). I like how people crapped and decried the SWTOR F2P model for a long time, when it seems like the most successful. People are hypocrites, huh?

Think nda will be lifted soonish, there is a pres closed beta weekend going on after all. Although they might just lift it for the pres (which I think might be a wise decision).

Ubisoft stopped giving away Assassin Creed 4 Black Flag with the purchase of imperial pre-order?

Most of that revenue was made off Box sells. It happens when 3 million people buy your game at $60 a pop

After the hipe ended SWTOR was left with 300k or so subs and was losing money daily. If they was making money and could stay in the green they would not have gone f2p.

Within SWTOR's first year it went f2p that is a lot sooner then other MMO's that also came out around or withing a couple years of its release. Rift lasted almost 3 years if not a little more before going f2p and the same can be said for DCUO.

While SWTOR did make there money back from making the game they was losing money from everything else. Once again there is a reason why a MMO go's f2p.

Don't get me wrong I don't look down on the f2p/b2p model and personally I perfer it but don't act like SWTOR was successful before it went F2p because it wasn't. If it was it wouldn't have gone f2p.

About 40% of that was subscriptions actually. I didn't say it was successful for the first 6 months, it can't be because it was losing a lot of players, but it made a lot of money.

But did it make back the money spent to make the game. If so by how much once you factor in all there other costs.

Not to come off like a ass so don't take it that way but I want to see proof of how well it did before coming f2p.

But my point still stands the road SWTOR went down is not one ESO or any MMO for that matter wants to go down. It was luck it started making money after going f2p even more so with the model they did.

No it was revenue, so it didn't count costs. But the first 6 months are when it kept subscribers anyway, it was all downhill from there onwards. ESO could very well go down the same path as SWTOR, but it won't be for things like the Imperial race or the pre-order bonus. It will be for things like the game itself and especially end game content.

Those things mite not make it go down the same path but they won't help it ether.

The Imperial race decision will not help, it was 100% a stupid move by ZoS.

Both that and the Pre-Order bonus was in my opinion.

Let us see how lenient they are with the actual MMO (EQN), I guarantee you their NDA won't be as open. As I said, I expect ESO's NDA to lift just like SWTOR's, a month before release.
It's using the Planetside 2 Engine, Forgelight. Voxels is not an engine. It's a graphical method then combined with a physics engine can make some very interesting things occur. As opposed to polygon type graphics, which is a static and only the surface has texture. If you lob off a piece of model in a polygon model, you get nothing but empty space as opposed to Voxels which nets you some pieces of it with whatever texture it has.

As to development time, that thing has been teased since 2009.

    /shrug.

I think most agree. They should be in at launch for all.

But it doesn't change my impressions of beta and the game itself either. As was mentioned in the shoddy cast... this isn't the developers choice. Further, I think this is more or less the future of MMO's, sub or not.
