    My own public server

Trying to setup my own server for a couple of friends and myself to play on and I am having some issues. The port I forwarded for minecraft will not open basically. I have a linksys E-1200 wireless router, looked up the guide on the port-forward site everyone uses and followed it exactly. Didn't work, port stayed closed. Looked at some other videos on youtube on it and tried putting my IpV4 address into the port and still stays closed.

Have you thought about trying a Hamachi, bukkit server? Made things a lot easier for me That port forwarding lark goes straight over my head. With hamachi, you can have up to 5 ppl for free.
