    World PVP

I have thought about World PVP with the removal of have group will travel it might make World PVP happen more often, but if Blizzard wanted to try an d push it to the max.

    1. Have honorable kills give 3 times more honor than in BGs. Why? their is no bonus honor at the end of the battle.
    2. Have players be lootable. Have them have a loot table equal to a humanoid of their level. So you kill a 85 get 30sp, maybe some cloth and a random item.
    3. If you kill town guards same deal loot them for stuff (same as a player). Bring back named / faction leader having cool stuff. What is wrong if you kill Hellscream and you have a small chance of looting an epic PVP ax?
    4. Get bonus maybe if you kill some one higher than you in terms of ilevel or if you killed 25 guys in a row get more honor (killing spree).
    5. Have few guards at small towns and maybe even have certain cities have guards that will only protect the vendors and themselves.
    6. Have World PVP dailies. Like for example raid on Barrens kill 10 elite guards for x gold and x honor.

Do you guys think these are ways to help World PVP? Would this encourage World PVP?

very good ideas. but as much as the devs have been pushing, lets call it, "worldness". where theyre more worried about immersing the player deeper into the game and probably dont care so much about world pvp. its what i've gathered from reading blues and reading between the lines in what has/has not been said in regards to world pvp. every blue i've seen answer a question about it gives the standard, "yadda yadda yadda its a great idea, yadda yaddda, future, yadda yadda, look in to it." basically they just want people to travel the world(of warcraft) and if pvp happens it wasnt by design.
that being said i liked most of your ideas, especially the faction leaders dropping loot. this would make faction leaders at least at the start of seasons valuable targets and would make for some great city battles. oh and yes, guards should give honor.

edit: to expand on your idea of leaders dropping loot. to cut down on multiple raids per day they could make the loot table akin to bosses in lfr that youve killed. you just wouldnt be eligible if you had already killed said boss that week/day, however they want to do it. this would help prevent people killing him like 6 times a day and allow others a shot at loot since u know they'd put a reasonably long respawn timer on them if city raiding became too rampant.

In the classic for a short while Faction leaders did drop a lot of loot, BUT they were damn hard to kill. For example Thrall did not die on my server Argent Dawn until like 1.10 and by than his loot table had been removed

ya i really wish they would take a step back in their lore department and really look what they've done to the horde/alliance storyline. i dont think the alliance and the horde have ever been closer in-game to hand-holding. we've basically been doing 2 expansions together helping to defeat teh bigger evil. enough with this carebear save the worldness. i'd rather see a red is dead mentality than some care-bear joint co-op mission to destroy some big dragon thats been defeated 16 times already in the same lore-line, but miraculously comes back to life for each expac.

also i could do w/out the constant <insert some random happening in the caverns of time-line> to fill content and the constant rehashing of already raided content. old is still old even if you gift wrap it.

In my experience the Have Group Will Travel has helped World PvP, i do alot of World PvP anyway, but because of how people these days are lazy/ or just dont know how to get to certain areas, or even where they are, they are alot happier joining in some world PvP if you will summon them=/

But some nice ideas you have there, i think it would be good if they made it so you can get a new mount for the For the Alliance, that would be nice, and maybe give a weekly to kill the leaders, that would be nice i think too, but at the end of the day, those who want to World PvP will do, and those that wont, well, wont

Just allow people to initiate pvp in the air and there'll be non-stop PVP on PVP servers. No rewards needed and no mercy given.

Parachutes for all, available within 30 seconds of dismounting from a flying mount. Each spec gets one ability that dismounts the targeted player if the ability hits, and also dismounts the player that initiates PVP. And then begins the incessant QQ of the PVE specialists who are "only on a pvp server to raid with a guild that fits my progression and raid times."

Or some part of your list could work, but still not solve the issue of people just going AFK in the air if threatened like the little PVE ****** they are.

Disclaimer: I have no problems whatsoever with people who stay on PVE servers, or play on PVP servers and don't complain about PVP. To each their own. I sincerely hope you enjoy the game on your own terms, and promise I will no longer come onto PVE servers and do the /duel and /forfeit trick to get people to flag themselves in return for you not trying to force your playstyle onto us on PVP servers.

Having any meaningful rewards for World PVP will just make it so people will group up at a graveyard and just farm honor on each other. Some guy with 30 accounts will just log on 29 hordes and then his main on Alliance and kill them over and over and be honor capped in 5 minutes.

Upping the rewards per kill will cause more problems than it will solve, and Blizzard knows that. Hence end-game rewards in Tol Barad etc.

The daily quest seemed cool though. On lower pop realms it wouldn't really work, but if you got a daily quest from a PvP vendor to go and kill X NPC in Crossroads or Goldshire or something that'd surely help world PvP on higher pop realms. If the location changed daily and was still somewhat easy to get too for the opposite faction I can see that working quite nicely.

Plus if you're bored you can just go to the location and kill people trying to do their daily world pvp quest ;P

And what world PvP will we see when once again at max level everyone can just mount their flying mount?

Honestly I came into this thread expecting some incessant, illogical whining, but I am pleasantly surprised. Those all actually sound like very good ideas.

Yep, but only one or two should be implemented at a time. There's too many hidden little issues with the whole list together - such as the Honour-capping pointed out by iWolfBanei.

I agree with that point. I am not saying change everything at once, that would be too drastic. Just do a couple and see if you need to add more or take away some.

The main issue that discourages most people I know from world pvp is an infinite wave of lv 85 guards summoned by someone saying "Goibon Uden Lo"
Every single npc in any kind of camp or town can do it.

It not only breaks immersion, but you don't feel like attacking a settlement that can summon infinite waves of guards.
It makes no sense IC either.

Me: Muahaha, a little Alliance hunter camp with no people!, I'll attack it for the Horde!
Young Girl & her friends: Goibon Uden Lo!
*Fully armed Stormwind Guards appears out of nowhere and beats the shit out of me*

Tbh for a lot of realms world PvP is a problem because...well realms are populated for one faction. I know i have seen a total of 5 alliance leveling all 10 of my characters to 85 on Illidan - US. Hopefully Cross-realm-zones can add some alliance spice to our zones.
