GW2 vs WoW - Boss Picture Comparison

I keep hearing people that bash on GW2 say that its another typical gimmicky MMO with the same copy and pasted content as WoW. So I decided to make this topic on 1 of the finer points on how GW2 ISN'T like WoW. I do believe that WoW's aesthetic allows a much bigger audience to play the game, and honestly it's a smart move to make more money.

HOWEVER, for us that CAN move on in 2012 with technology and have better computers (although you CAN play GW2 on low settings on a lower-end cpu), we'd like to move on to epic battles like The Shatterer. Looking at the official GW2 Facebook page as well, there will be PLENTY of giant epic bosses to deal with.



Here are some of the bosses you can expect to face in the world;
Keep in mind that The Shatterer is confirmed to be a SMALLER Elder Dragon in the game (By A-Net themselves)

No one really thinks GW2 is trying to be more like WoW, if anything it is trying to be too much unlike WoW focusing a selling point on dropping the need of a healer or tank. Not to mention........WTF does gimmicks or game mechanics or content have to deal with graphics?

Well yeah the game is 7 years old of course its graphics are dated. I disagree with your logic "GW2 has better graphics ergo it is not a copy paste of WoW". I don't know enough about GW2 to agree or disagree with that assessment but graphics are neither here nor there.

I think it's inviting a flamewar to title the thread GW2 vs WoW.

I don't see this thread going anywhere nice, but I'll bite:

I find it incredibly unlikely that they'd go and rehaul the entirety of WoW this late into its life, not only would it alienate a ton of people, but it'd be a hell of a lot of work for, arguably, not much gain; It'd be much smarter for them to do it in a whole new title, such as "Titan".
That's not even taking into account the engine, which is getting quite ancient, and may not even be able to be stretched that far.

I and lots with me happen to like the WoW graphics. The art style, the models, the feel to it.

If they changed this and tried making it more "modern" or "realistic", then the game would be ruined. WoW = one of the best optimized games to date, GW2 hasn't proven itself there yet.

I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve here really, there IS no "GW2 vs WoW" considering how different the games are from each other. And tbf bosses in WoW feel pretty darn big compared to your characters if "size" is what matters...

But yeah, as everyone else has pointed out, WoW is an old game. It's just silly to try and base an argument on anything graphics-related.

Tera is better optimized than wow and i dont like it much, but while playing in 1080 i was streaming in 720 and in 60 fps in game 60 in the stream. optimized pretty damn well.

Wow would limit me to 30 in each.

Sorry to say but a lot of people could give two shits about the graphics. I really dislike topics like this coming up where people (feel like they)need to prove a point to show game X is better than WoW. Who the hell cares? Saying you're going to play a game and simply enjoy it for the graphics is like saying you're going to go skydiving just because you have the money to do it. Makes 0 sense.

People are attracted to the gameplay. Anyone who DOESN'T think GW2 has better graphics than WoW is as delusional as a kid on LSD. Guess what? WoW is running off an older than old engine, go figure! But that's not what's important. I STILL play Pokemon Red here and there because the gameplay is fun and it reminds me that graphics don't make the game.

75 fps in WoW, 45 in raids, so I disagree. But I won't touch Tera with a stick so I can't compare those.
