Why do I have to be online to play single player game?

Yeah, same thought occurred to me. I even had to be on the internet to be able to install this game.. Didn't make much sense to me as I own the hard copy and I didn't buy it via the online store.

He's talking about the fact that there's a singleplayer mode yet it still requires you to be logged in. Quite simple to understand, wouldn't you think?

You play on Blizzards servers, none of your character files and such are stored locally on your computer.

Beyond the fact that everyone who would be playing this game already has an "always on" high speed internet connection. I don't see how this game requiring you to have a constant internet connection is a huge inconvenience.

Unless of course Blizzard is secretly installing some DRM software similar to what was involved with Spore.

Unless you're traveling and don't have an internet connection, but do have a laptop.
Unless the power goes out so your internet's out. Not your laptop though.
Unless your "high speed" internet connection is fairly slow.
Unless you get > 9000 ERROR FUCKING 37s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unless you get disconnected and can't get back in due to maintenance.

Server crashes, server maintenance, server lag, just to name a few

Think of it this way, less duping, more security, ARTISAN LEVELING/RECIPES BEING ACCOUNT WIDE, achievements being account wide, being able to know when friends are on no matter what character they're on.

It does more good than harm.
