Absolutely love the game, at first I was skeptical just because I'd never played 1 or 2, but now I'm addicted! My TERA character is suffering greatly because of it :/

Nope. I am enjoying it immensely. I forgot how much I enjoyed the Diablo series.

I mean, I don't RECALL Diablo ever going down the extremely taboo route that the stairway did at any point, but perhaps I blinked and missed it in the mess of sprites.

Lol, seriously. I have no idea how people can think it's not dark enough for a Diablo game. As soon as I saw cultists in act1 throwing people into iron maidens and watching then go splat I knew it would pass the test.

I'm thinking about buying it but I've read people are completing the normal mode in 10-13 hours. What happened with the 40h+ guaranteed with a $60 game?

Sure, there is hell and nightmare but it's basically the same game with upped difficulty, isn't it?

Well I am taking it slow and going in every optional instance. Making sure I open the entire map of every zone visit. I am still in act I and have played 6 hours. I believe there is an achievement to finish act 1 under and hour. So i guess it depends how you want to play.

That's probably because people are rushing normal to get to the more challenging modes. There are tons of extra dungeons and areas to explore on the side of the main quests. Some people just skip all of this and go directly to the main quest objectives. It took me 10 hours to beat act 1, so multiply that by four assuming all acts are equal length and you have your 40 hours.

You don't buy this game simply to complete normal mode, because 10-13 hours is indeed hardly worth $60 to most people. I don't know where this guarantee you think exists comes from, but it isn't a real thing. The Diablo games are about beating the same content over and over on harder difficulties, then farming that same content over and over for gear. This can provide thousands of hours of content for some people, but if that isn't your thing, then Diablo 3 isn't the game for you and you should not buy it.

Reminds me much of Gauntlet on the N64. I loved that kind of dungeon crawler. Being used to WoW for the last 6-7 years, i find it very refreshing. I can now do something fun, hard but still requiring skills. Im a DH with an offensive build going throught Nightmare alone. I can't imagine Hell and Inferno atm.

Overall, im having a blast! Normal mode was still very very fun.

Holy crap were you drunk and/or high? 10 hours to beat act one is really long.......................It took me about 3-4 hours. Even in Nightmare mode.

I really have to laugh at the OP. You don't want to play the same content in different difficulty levels...... Yet you play WoW?

I kind of wish blizzard never game out with the annual pass. So many idiots will play the game expecting it to be some new mmo and then bash it over and over again because it is nothing like WoW. Next time do some research on the game before asking what happens after normal.

Anyway, to answer your question I LOVE IT!!!! Best gaming experience I've had in a long long time. Can't wait to start on nightmare!!!

Yes and trust me its not worth the 60 Bucks if you are not one of the "I want to hunt the best Item for every slot for month throught random drops" people.

No. I love it. Itemization is crap but sell that stuff and profit and just hope for the best on the next drop - you eventually get usable upgrades.

Best game out in a long while.
