    World First Laethys kill video by < Addiction >

    So the change to that golden bomb or whatever it was must have really made it easier for people. I guess we wont see any "nerfs" for a while, then. Curious about Maelforge

    Was wondering how long it would take after the hotfixes I saw recently. Now people can't say Laethys is unkillable anymore lol.

    Before the hotfix you could get blasted by 2-3 mechanics within seconds that dropped the raid to like 1/4 HP. The random gold bombs [near death] and tail whip [near death] + jumping on gold piles.... asduhyvgsiujg

    Encounter was probably very close to "unbeatable" before fixes. It's still a shitton of raid damage, but far less random/buggy/fuckyoumelee now.

    Mmm not really. Laethys is still extremely hard, this just made her beatable by the very top tier guilds. I don't think you will see everyone downing her. The fix to the orbs was kinda like the second fix to Cerebral Bore (not the first one, cause that just made it work properly) on Akylios IIRC.

    That is incorrect, it was very beatable if you've spent enough time to learn it (raid comp & individual execution). Orbs don't even always spawn in p2 on some pulls & cleanly suicidable, while blue tail lance is completely avoidable. The hotfix impacted quality of life changes for p2 100->37% (NO impact on p3 36->0%).

    Timeline before 05/23 reset with quality of life hotfix9.
    05/18 Friday 47% hard enrage.
    05/19 Saturday 38% hard enrage and then reached phase3, 32% attempt death to unanticipated adds (12s before hard enrage). Then 24% hard enrage.
    05/20 Sunday 14% wipe to storm.
    05/21 Monday 12% hard enrage .
    05/22 Tuesday 14% hard enrage, Then 14% soft enrage (deaths with 'AIDS' not pressing in time spreading quickly) with 1minute ahead of hard enrage.
    ^last attempt with more practice on soft enrage mechanic would have been a kill.
    05/23 Wednesday: Two 7% wipes to storm with 1 minute before hard enrage and 8 people without 'AIDS' ahead of soft enrage.
    05/24 Thursday: 2% wipe to soft enrage, followed by the recored kill.

    It simply took time to get used to mechanics in different phases so that people would stay alive and increase DPS-uptime to beat hard enrage which happened right up to beginning of Tuesday's attempts. After that it took 2 days of attempts to clean up execution of soft enrage 'AIDS' mechanic to get a kill. It had nothing to do with meteors. If you pay attention, we specifically suicide molten orbs in p2 after hotfix (the only 2 deaths in the fight). We've found it more risk-effective than to stack and risk subjugation->orb landing or orb->subjugation RNG that can kill 4+ people at a time. The only other fix is to reduce some RNG deaths during bugged piles ('high ground' buff inconsistently applied, tail lance out of a pile into molten gold, red bubble on top of pile with tail lance, meteor and auric invocation at the same time. You can only get auric invocation with gold piles at this time post-hotfix). Considering there are no piles in p3, this would have no effect on soft enrage management, only whether you get additional wipes between good attempts.

    The only important change was 3 days after initial release that made fight 2-tankable and added 1 minute to hard enrage. So the fight was killable for a week but it takes a significant time to learn mechanics and perfect execution for everyone in the raid.

    No because you can suicide people one at a time with orbs, instead of having whole raid getting wiped to CB pre-fix.

    That is correct. Only 3 guilds so far killed it, compared to 154 guilds that killed Warboss Drak. Laethys requires tight DPS for p1, p2 and p3, tight healing, tight energy draining, dying as little as possible, getting reflects, interrupts, watching self-buffs, tank swapping, add management, positioning, dodging different mechanics.
