Ships to Pandaria still a possibility?

The storyline is that you find Pandaria by shipwreck. Obviously this is before shipping routes are opened up to the zone.

So the solution might be to have something like Twilight Highlands initially, where you are personally using a portal to go back and forth while waiting for a base to be built.

But I think the best option would be to just do what they do in TH and have some initial quests which end with a small dock being built and repairs to a ship/zeppelin so you can get back. And then in 5.1, those little bases are turned into fortresses and harbors.

The fact still stands. It made sense to get a level 10 from an island to the mainland and back using a boat. It made sense to get a level 80 from the mainland to an island and back using a boat. And it damn well makes sense to get a level 90 from the mainland to an island and back... you guessed it, using a boat.

Difference is that the story for how you get to pandaria is that you accidentally shipwreck on it.

It's an island that doesn't have ports and has been closed off from the rest of the world. There are no shipping routes. The ship/zeppelin you got there on is destroyed.

So if you get there via shipwreck, how are you just going to find a boat back home right away?

While boats might be better suited, just think about launch day. Everyone cramming onto the boat and we know what can happen with so many people on those transports... just think back to opening of AQ gates. A detour under stonetalon.
