Something like age of empires I guess lol
Hm... I'm going to suggest a rather eccentric game for this one: Mount & Blade: Warband, and the expansion Viking Conquest. It is a hybrid strategy/RPG set in a historically, factually rooted sandbox where you raise armies, cooperate with nobles, raid and build up towns, trade, make alliances, manipulate countries into fighting each other, siege castles, do quests, become mercenaries, and so on. It has quite a lot of depth to gameplay and - if you want to completely take over the world - alot of game time value for it's very low price. It's a gem.
There are two flavors of M&B:W; the base Warband game, which takes place exclusively on land (no ships) but set in the classical European high middle ages of knights and princesses, with a heavy emphasis on Calvary regiments and heroisim. The other route you can go is the Viking Conquest expansion, which is set in Dark Age Brittania, with an emphasis on infantry and cooperation. Unlike Warband, you can't play hero and solo the game; you MUST get other lords and nobles to fight with you to win. A key feature of Viking Conquest is naval combat, as you will regularly sail around and between Ireland, Britain, and Scandinavia.
Check out Rising World for PC it is a wonderful game with great developers. I strongly suggest checking it out! If you do join us at Freaks R Us for the greatest community and admins ever! I hope we see you freaks there.
So i need a game to play for about a week, since i'm a pleb and didin't get swtor early access. Prefered genre is rpg, but i'm pretty much open to any genre except for rts and sports games. I prefer singleplayer, but it's not really that important. I've played most of the popular rpg's like skyrim, fallouts, dragon age/s, mass effect's, etc. Prefered lenght is around 20-30 hours, but it doesen't really matter.
Only PC games, since i don't own a console.
Shadowrun, Banner Saga, and Transistor would fit the bill. You can play them in about a week and they are highly entertaining.
There are three Shadowrun games (by Harebrained Schemes): Returns, Dragonfall, and Hong Kong. I'd skip Returns and go straight to Dragonfall (or Hong Kong).
Are there any MMOs out there or ones that are coming soon™ where the endgame character progression is pretty much random dungeons, solo activities and crafting.
I'm not all that into organized raiding anymore but not being able to max out my character through other means bothers me for some reason.
If the endgame is difficult (not impossible) and require some coordination when grouping that's a big plus.
Warframe and Diablo 3 come to mind. Endgame consists of randomly generated dungeons/missions, can be soloed to endgame, and you can progress either in a group or solo. Note that they are solely combat games. Yes, they have crafting and stuff but it's pretty much just killing stuff. Forever.
Yeah I've played D3 a couple of times but it's not really an MMORPG in the traditional sense and I get sick off it as soon as I hit the gear wall. New content is almost never added and there's just too much RNG which means getting BiS is pretty much impossible. So no ARPGs.
Gonna do some research on warframe but from what I've seen on streams it doesn't look all that appealing.
In that case I'd strongly urge you to check out Warframe. There's a new update to the game every two months, bringing along new bosses, new tilesets, new Warframes (classes), new weapons to obtain and new quests to complete. Unlike other games, the progression is not in attaining "better gear" but instead upgrading that gear with mods, which change how you play the game. Ultimately, the endgame progression is getting mods to develop the ultimate playstyle you prefer. The mods themselves can be upgraded and there's even enchants beyond them that do crazier things. Some mods can do combos with certain enchants, warframes, or even other mods.
To cap it all off, it is F2P, and due to the way gear works in Warframe it's not P2W (since pretty much all gear is equal to another, just redistributed stats and different effects). I suppose you could call Prime Access a form of P2W (Prime being the only form of "better items" in Warframe, which you earn at high end play) but the steep price to get Prime items with IRL money is meant to discourage people from breaking out their wallets. You can also obtain said Prime items pretty easily through regular play anyways; just trade the prime items you don't want for the prime items you do want and volia.

Any good co-op FPS games out there similar to Space Marine? I've really been enjoying Space Marine, but the problem is that it doesn't seem to be as fun solo or with just a couple of people, and it's pretty rare that enough of my main Steam group can be online at the same time to play it.
So I guess what I'm looking for is a good co-op FPS that's similar to Killing Floor/Left4Dead/Space Marine, where you fight against "waves" of bad guys that get progressively harder with a boss at the end. Preferably something that doesn't get so much less fun when you're playing solo or only with two people.
Short version: my circle of friends on Steam is fairly small, about 5 of us. Two of us are online pretty frequently, but the others are hit or miss, and we're spread across time zones. So it's rare that we can all be online at once. We love Space Marine, but it's a lot less fun to us unless we have 4 people online to play it. If there are only 2-3 of us online, it's not really an option. So I'm looking for something that plays kinda like it but is still fun for those times only a couple of us are online.
Vermintide may be my answer here, but I haven't gotten around to picking it up yet.

I'll add another vote for the Shadowrun stuff. I think the Halloween sales on Steam are still running for...about 3 more hours, and Shadowrun Returns/Dragonfall are $3 right now (Hong Kong is around $15, but it's also the newest one). I highly recommend anything Shadowrun as a very solid single player RPG.
Are there any good Arena-style shooters around these days? Recent changes to Quake Live have left me in the market for something new. Anything with a decent population and Deathmatch mode would be a good start, but I'd consider something team based too as long as it doesn't drift too far towards being a military style shooter.
Might want to check out FFXIV; if you can survive the painful 2.5 second GCD and the forced completion of the story to get to endgame, then it might be for you.
I've been playing Tomb Raider (2013) and having a blast. Can anyone suggest other games like it? (Already played the Uncharted series and all the prince of persia's). I'm not heavy into the combat. I'm not opposed to it but I like the puzzle solving and world exploration.
Thanks.
Witcher 3 is a great game. It's got a lot to offer
