Trying to really dig into Final Fantasy as I've only beaten FF12 (I beat it 2 days ago lol), FF13, and FF14. Currently playing through FF7R but I'm looking for a turn based JRPG to cleanse my palate. I have FF4, FF6, FF7, FF8, FF9, and FF10 + 10-2. Which one should I dive into?
to people that played both: divinity original sin AND pillars of eternity
whats better? whats the difference? sequels count also
both are on steam sale right now, about 2h left. need to make up my mind quick

I'd say Divinity Original Sin 2 is probably the best option if you have to choose one, haven't played the first one but from what I've played of the second it's just hours of fun with all the options you have both in character power builds and story choices and quest progression and the writing is top notch. All I know about the first is that it's more limited than the second game.
As for Pillars of Eternity, I played through the first one minus it's DLC and I didn't enjoy it as much. Everything is very limited, characters have to be built strictly for their roles in your party based on the tactics you're going for in combat, you're kinda cemented in what quest progression options you have available from character creation and the overall story started to make me lose interest the further I got to the end. There is some interesting writing for the companions and their backstories but it's not really enough to carry the whole game. Also not to mention the conclusion to one of the major quest lines regarding the stronghold was extremely unsatisfying for the effort put in personally.
Haven't played Deadfire.
If you havent played octopath traveler yet then youre missing out. But to answer your question i suggest 10.

Dos: 2 is far better imo, its really just an amazing game that youll burn hours on, bonus it has co op and a campaign builder.
You could also try Bravely Default/second. (made by same people that made octopath)
It does have some final fantasy elements:

Thanks, guys for your lists and advice! I know what I will do at weekends. However, I had little experience with videogames. But I left that because I have to prefer old classic like slots, roulettes, poker. I know that it seems strange, but I am not urged to play and waste big sums of money. As for me, I have started from small and improve it. This field gives me an opportunity to use different strategies and check my fortune.
which D&D games had most action in the underdark and menzoberanzan?

Neverwinter night 2 has warlocks at best:

(and its the most D&D game you can find)
Are there any new games like Heavy Rain / Beyond Two Souls / Life is Strange? Interactive drama/action adventure. I like the cinematic experience with the ability to chime in and make decisions.
If anybody could recommend one I would appretiate it. I have access to PC and Nintendo Switch
Hey all, I've recently fallen (not) ill with a desire to play a good, war-based FPS. I don't really want to play multiplayer, but just play through a solid, engaging story. I've been struggling to get interested in video games lately, and even when I do, do I finish them? Well... I got all the way to the near-ending of P4G on PC back in late June/early July and I just stopped. (Watched the anime and that was it lol) Never beat the last two bosses in DOOM (2016), mostly due to it being kinda tough and I was like, eh, I saw most of the game. DOOM Eternal is very involved and probably a little beyond my skill level, without going down to the baby difficulty setting lol.
I think I am looking for a campaign FPS with an emphasis on character development, to some degree at least. Last year I discovered the youtube channel Viva La Dirt League and they've done some neat videos about FPS games, talking about character stories and what not throughout. Maybe this is why the sudden urge!
Anyways, I tried Googling some games earlier, but also just wanted to share my request with actual humans, as you all might give more honest and thoughtful replies than Google/a list from some IGN-type website.
Thanks for any and all responses!
It isn't realistic or war based, but I'd probably recommend Bioshock Infinite first and foremost, imo it's a great game and I believe available on most platforms through the Bioshock collection. The story and characters are what drew me in. I haven't played Titanfall 2(single player), but heard the campaign was great. I personally enjoyed the campaigns in Borderlands 2 and 3.
The campaign for the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was really good, and I believe they remastered it, but I haven't had any experience with the remaster/remake.
I'm not sure if any of those are war/realistic but Modern Warfare. The campaign for Modern Warfare was great, but I remember it being really short.
I did find this article: https://www.gamesradar.com/best-fps-games/
I should add, one of my absolute favorite games growing up was Star Wars Shadows of the Empire, such a shame Bounty Hunter was such a joke in comparison.
Wondering about games like CoD (do they all have good stories?), Insurgency: Sandstorm, CS:GO (does this game have a campaign?), never heard much about Battlefield's story, thoughts? Is Black Mesa story-driven? I do believe Halo has a strong story, I recall, don't see any reason why I shouldn't try this. Didn't know it came out for PC!
FPS games I own:
L4D2, years ago I played part of the story, never completed it. Might start over, I remember enjoying myself. Though, I kind of want something a little more FPS vs FPS, I think. We'll see!
All the Bioshock games. Watched Jesse Cox's playthrough of Infinite back in the day, idk if I want to play it, tbh.
Borderlands 2, not sure Borderlands is for me.
Crysis 2: Max Edition. Forget when I got this? Humble Bundle maybe?
All the DOOM games.
FEAR 2 and 3. (No.)
Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Not really my cup of tea, I don't think.
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon
Just Cause 2
Mass Effect 1 & 2
Medal of Honor (Single Player)
Metro 2033 and Last Light (Redux) I remember trying 2033 and it was so dark or something I didn't know what the f I was doing. Think I got killed and was like this is stupid and uninstalled. Might be willing to try again, perhaps I should study the game a little more lol I remember TinyTomLogan(OC3D.net) using a certain 2033 level in some of his benchmarks for GPUs/CPUs back in the day. Looked fun enough.
Resident Evil (is this a FPS?) 1 and Revelations 2
Star Wars Dark Forces 1 and 2 (this is not a joke, never played these, always meant to, but will they itch the FPS bug? You tell me?)
Star Wars Republic Commando
Tomb Raider (from what it looks like, this is more an adventure, alone, not really FPS, certainly not war-zone type)
Thanks folks!

And then I type up a thing where I talk about Bioshock among others haha
Shame the CoD:MW campaign was great... but short. Is it worth... $40? >_<
Playing Far Cry 5 now, finished Far Cry 3 a few days ago. I really liked Far Cry 3 and 5...so far..not too bad. Really good graphics, sound effects, etc. Have to wait until I finish it to give it a fair judgement.
" If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher.." - Abraham Lincoln
“ The Constitution be never construed to authorize Congress to - prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms..” - Samuel Adams
Medal of Honor (2010). Follows the true story (granted embellished in this medium) of SOC first incursion in Afghan in 2001.
I actually really love this game, it had a rough reception at first because it was a departure from the MoH series, MP fire fights were very dug in and almost "realistic". The single player is great though and you will enjoy it. If I recall it wasn't too long somewhere in the 10 hour range.
Steam Link
There is also a sequel game called Warfighter that continues the story.

I would definitely suggest STALKER or Metro games, the shooting in them is clunky and unwieldy but that gives them a kind of realistic feeling and I love that, though they are not too strong in the story aspect, especially the STALKER games.
Mass Effect games have a great story but the shooting in the first one is absolute trash.
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon is a must if you love 80s movies, style, aesthetics and music, not quite realistic though.
Check out Deus ex human revolution or mankind divided if you're into stealth as well.
