How many frame rates do you have on ultra?

I got a new laptop and Im not sure if im getting a good amount of frame rates. I got about 20-30 fighting a wolf in Elvynn forests

    what about you

    That is horribly bad.

    Laptops are bad.

Don't let anyone tell you different, if you want a computer for performance get a desktop. NEVER buy a laptop for performance, there is not one that will match a desktop in performance and price.

60 everywhere but LFR. 30-35 in LFR fighting Madness. Everything maxed out, 1600x900 resolution (my monitors are old leave me alone).

It would be higher, but I have vsync turned on.

I was getting 120 playing by myself and over 70 in 25man raids back when I still played WoW.

As Coar said -> Get. A. Desktop.

    ~45fps, 1080p resolution with 6 gigs ram, 6670 GPU, and an i3

My system is ancient, and I get ~20 FPS on 10man Ultra on 1600x1200 and medium settings (shadows low).

My laptop is pretty shitty, so I get maybe 10-15 FPS on average with everything set as low as possible. Raiding is completely out of the question.

    CPU: Intel Core i5-4670k 3.4GHz | RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB DDR3-1866 | GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 760 4GB (2-Way SLI) | Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45
    Cooling: Noctua NH-D14 65.0 CFM CPU Cooler; 200mm Fans x3; | Case: HAF 922 | PSU: Corsair Pro 750W

80+ FPS in Raids on Ultra. Stay mad.
This setup no longer hits 80+ FPS in raids on Ultra. Stay sad.

Biggest bottleneck is the HDD though. So many people fail to notice that.

i7 processor (2 generations old), 27 inch panel ( Dell u2711 resolution of 2560x1440) , 24 GB of DDR 3 RAM. Zotac GTX 580 - In most places i average 100 FPS+ dropping to mid 60s in intensive fights.

I really wish i could but i need the portability of a laptop

I pretty consistently get 60. I'm too ignorant to figure out why it doesn't go any higher, I'm pretty sure there's a setting I must have wrong somewhere.

60, but the human eye can only see 20-40 frames anyway varies from person to person.

@spectral it's because you have vertical sync on, it maxes your frame rate with you monitor's refresh rate to prevent tearing. Without it im at 120+ fps.

    Oh no not this again

Having higher rendered FPS than your monitor's refresh rate (typically 60hz) cannot possibly make a visual difference which is why vsync caps it out at 60fps (vsync is a setting that prevents your screen from displaying partially rendered frames).

  16. #16
Yeah, human eye can only see 20-40 fps dadada. But you feel a huge difference in movement with your character and animations or what not when its not 60. At least for me :/

From 10+ in LFR zergfest to 80+ in old world. WTB better CPU.

OP turn shadows down, that should raise your fps up. What resolution are you playing at, and what are the specs of your laptop?

20-30 Seems about the norm to me, probably I've been playing so many things at about that framerate. But that's probably just me.
And yes, laptops are farking terrible for gaming. You're saccing power for portability.
