I don't see the issue, so you can't use your RL cash to buy in game assets from other players through cash shop items, seems fair for all involved.

I think you may have misunderstood me. I think this is a great rule and one that is needed in a game of this sort.

CI and energy shield CI and this, CI and that, i am glad it got nerfed, it seems much more balanced now, before that it seemed any witch and templar spec ended in CI but the tears at the official forums are amazing.

and the whole chaos damage changes, same as holy damage in D2 but at least there is a resist affix in the game to counter it somehow, not as Holy damage in D2 >_>

I dunno, i've read that ES near endgame is very hard to come by.

Converted to Keystone Passive - Ancestral Bond: You can summon up to 1 additional totem. You can't deal damage with your skills yourself.

I wonder if summons can be used with this.

I'm surprised you didn't go for Hex Master and Whisper of Dooms. Then again, I never got super high level so I have no idea how good curses may or may not be on Merciless. Granted, I'm not sure where you'd pull points from to begin with.

Generally, I found curses other than elemental weakness to be an absolute waste of time. It's like a wasted GCD.

Especially if using any type of fast casting lightning attack/spell. The shock stacks are applied so quickly that the debuff from shock is enough to ignore.. everything.

I have +20% Lightning Pen, Spark, Reduced Mana, Chaos Dmg, Faster Casting and Fork. Max Minion Life, Minion Dmg, Zombies, Skeletons and Specters too.

My auras are max as well. With a max quality and level Lesser Multiple Projectile, Flame Totem, Chain, Ice Spear, Freezing Pulse and Elemental Proliferation and Power Siphon for special purposes.

Curses are just not useful.

Got to chamber of sins quest, first two levels were easy then I hit level 3 with the mages that do spark. Entered a room full of them and instantly died lol

How would I go about getting through it? Kiting, buying lightning resistance gear?

Usually I get by, by just getting a single lightning resist ring with some life on it. I do tend to build my characters fairly defensively though, meaning I usually have a lot of life.

On another note.. what the heck am I going to do with myself for the next ~12 hours? I find myself just staring at that damn timer hoping time passes faster. :/

The new player resistance penalties are 0% on Normal, -20% on Cruel and -60% on Merciless difficulty. Chaos resistance is now included and the same penalty applies to it.

Also looking at the CI "nerf" they are only removing the added energy shield from the node...says nothing about chaos damaging your shield instead...then they go and increase the energy shield nodes.

There is supposedly less chaos damage mobs and the amount of chaos damage that is dealt was lowered. According to notes.

They changed it.

On Alpha the nerf to CI was 20% less ES and the damage went to the shield. This was on PTS all the way up to this deployment. So it seems CI being disassociated from ES is a still newer revision.

I saw that but even still a 60% negative resistance on chaos damage is still quite something to plug particularly with ele resistances as well.

As for the CI i was under the impression that the chaos damage was going to damage the energy shield but it dose not mention it, they also have that new energy shield keystone converting health regen to ES regen and buffed the ES nodes...although i read the reduced the amount of ES items have it wont be by that much.
Seems there are still going to be overpowered ES tank builds

Also...kiwi packs are gone when the game goes down.
Glad i got one wish it was bronze/silver/gold or diamond though but i am skint

The change where chaos damages the shield first was scrapped last minute. Instead they pulled the ES out of CI and gave back the chaos immunity.

Seems a fair trade if the new ES nodes are signification enough. Part of the problem with CI feeling "mandatory" was that raw ES nodes in the tree were sparse. Much less so than life and armor, adding insult was the fact those raw ES nodes were pitiful on their own.

If you didn't take the 6 node clusters above the middle section as an ES user, you had to travel almost half the tree to pick up defenses. And these were not cheap either in terms of points.

For example, if a witch travel straight for ES to the Nullification clusters, without picking up any damage nodes or CI, she would have spent an absurd 24 points. To reach the second cluster, 34 points. Using the fastest possible routes.

Without CI the ES nodes were pitiful by themselves.

It fluctuates a lot, mine keeps bouncing between 200kb and 5mb, halfway there though so not to bad.

Seems they know how to price things reasonably for the shop after taking a peek as well.

Pretty sure it isn't , i regularly download games digitally , sometimes over 10gb and it never takes this long, usually can download at over 7mb/sec average. I even installed Dota2 today in a few minutes and thats over 3gb.

Ya the cash-shop prices are pretty good already bought the phoenix headwear.
