I'll probably level SWT in live the way things are currently looking. If those reverse knockback gloves don't get changed it's just too OP. Need a build that can level up with a Scion as base so I can respec later but her start area is still awful and not well suited to very many things.

Yeah I think the splinter gem is really nice for a totem build like spark etc. problem is right now you can use multiple splinter gems when it says limit one which I imagine they'll be fixing soon. I also ran into a bug when I was messing around in the mines on act 4, I /oos'd and for some damn reason it teleported me into a freaking wall, couldn't get unstuck so I logged out to fix it. I had OBS running cause I figured it'd be easier to submit bug issues with video playback lol. I've been recording it on to my 2TB Black drives then dumping it all on to a 16TB NAS setup I have running, it's been saving me time doing it this way.

Hmm so state of the beta was released, looks like they're behind schedule which is fine as long as it comes out polished. Looking forward to some of the balance changes coming soon along with how they're going to handle jewels.

So, how many jewel sockets do most good builds go for? Been dicking around with the passive tree, and with some small modifications to my current build I could pick up 3 sockets, with the possibility of getting a 4th one later on. I have no idea if that's good, bad or ugly.

I'd say most builds would be close enough to pick up 2-4 if they feel it's worth the points, everything above that will mostly be a build made with the intent to stack jewel's. I have one idea that would grab 9 but that's pushing it to the max.

My whispering ice build has 7 sockets. I doubt most builds will need more than 1 or 2 staple jewels and unless you want to really sink currency into crafing rare jewels they won't be THAT useful.

But but but 62% increased damage from one passive! Also, anyone have a clue what increased global defences does? A jewel prefix called defensive gives 5-10% of whatever that is. I would assume it's like 10% armor, evasion, ES, block and resistances, but that's just a guess.

Armor/eva/ES are global defenses.

I'm playing ice shot on beta atm and its super fun. Seems much smoother levelling getting lmp so early as well. Mana is a major issue though.

I seriously hate not having levelling gear. blah blah scrub twink blah blah, it just makes the first 60 levels tolerable compared to how they are now lol.

I agree, but only for certain builds. Trying to level my scion has been painful, but leveling my summoner has been a breeze. I think the real advantage to leveling gear is that you don't have to have a well planned build, you can start creating your end game build from the start and let the gear take care of the weaknesses. Really wish they'd give us some sort of drop rate buff for the beta, most of us won't actually get to try out/test very many things

It's like I don't need to see how a self found level 19'character deals with act II normal. I already know. The devs already know. Just give me gears!
I guess i say the same thing at the start of new leagues to. Regardless if it's fast or not, the first thirty levels feel so slow and clunky. I guess it's supposed to so you feel more powerful later?

Yeah that's a big part of the reason.

Edit: And self found level 19 is nothing, do that every time basically. Trading before level 40 is pretty much pointless unless you need a specific gem or something. I bet you could even pick my skill out of the once that are useful enough and I'd get to level 30 self found pretty easy.

I might play every time they add new features to the beta, but I don't want to get burnt out of the game before release.

Plus it doesn't feel like a closed beta anymore, more like a early access p2p game, which is a turn off to me.

I'm aware it's nothing I was using it as an example :P

I've gone to around fifty completely self found before, and it wasn't the difficulty that turned me off of it, just the low damage and clearing speed was awful.

I've still found several bugs with immortal mobs and summons not following you when you zone and I hope I can be a part of helping them fix this stuff before my character in a challenge league depends on it. I'm surprised they still think they are behind on the beta, but it looks like most of their concerns are balancing issues.

Don't reset or assign your talent points while out in the world I have heard fixes the "Summons not following through zones"

obviously would have to fix that before live.

Ranger mana seems really, really bad early. Like the first 30 levels are just a nightmare until you can get some leech or perhaps an eleron neck.

Its not like it prevents you from killing things, but swigging mana pots every single pull is getting annoying.

Thats been in there for awhile now! You don't want to run into them for sure though, bad news :P
