Kinda are not supposed to die in Path of Exile though. Even in softcore, the premise of the game hinges on dangerous mechanics that kill you in seconds. Without the difficulty of simply staying alive long term the game design sorta falls apart.

SC is not "it's okay to die mode" like D3. SC just let's you try again if you do.

Just got through rushing through 6 channel maps + 10 ghosts tempest with whatever mods the alchemy orb gods blessed me with, most fun I've had in a long time. Tempest might actually be the best league GGG has made yet

Initially I thought the 1 hour refresh was stupid, but it definitely creates a huge sense of urgency on the fun tempests. It pushes you to speed clear maps, which makes things more dangerous. The faster you clear, the more maps you can do with the fun tempest. True risk vs reward that remains totally the player's choice. My warbands character is only level 30 or so right now, hoping it can be even halfway as fun. From all the crying on reddit and the forums I don't have my hopes up.

Also if you find the game too difficult at first, make a summoner. They are absurdly strong right now. I have lost three level ~70ish characters in tempest already, I finally rage rolled a summoner and it's a breeze. Using Whispering Ice with curse on hit temp chains/enfeeble/ele weakness and it's made the game a joke (~80% slow on regular mobs with the chilled ground from Whisper).

I'm not that enthused by Tempest. Just not exciting to me really. Also I think I am getting a little burnt out "starting over". I played a lot of POE and to be frank I am just bored with running the game 3 times over. Act 3x and 4 being kinda longish isn't helping either.

Tempest is honestly kind of boring to me

I have the same feeling Fencers. I need a new fun build to play. I really want to make a Power Siphon and Discharge build, but i just hate how late in the game that you get discharge.

Can anyone suggest a fun build?

Phys wanding is sooo annoying to level, its like not even worth it til late late game imo

Lightning Ball + Tendrils + Herald of Thunder + Lightning Pen is really fun

Steam rolling merciless. I guess I'll find out if my build is viable by act 4.

Twyzel costs like a fusing orb.

Is there ANY viable MF build that use Cameria's Maul ? I know its not the best weapon and its called trollmantle 2.0 (Mjolnir says hello) but for some reason the idea of melee MFing with this got me hooked. Im bored with summoners/totems/ranged mf builds and this looks fun.
But I suck with creating builds and have no idea at what direction to go with pasive tree and gem setups for this.

I echo these sentiments. Tempest just isn't intriguing to me. Once my current character dies in Tempest, I might just reroll on Warbands.

Tempest is easily my favorite league so far. It's dynamic, you can avoid it if you want, and between all the high yield ones and the bonus map quantity it's by far the most rewarding one. Running 10 ghost tempests in a party is quite the near-rip greed fest.

I have a feeling Tempest and Warbands will make it into the base game somehow. Warbands I am okay with, but Tempest is boring IMO.

I'm not sure how they can add either of them into the game in a meaningful way, unless they're just rare random additions to zones.

  14. #7134
Tempest I can see being added to certain areas (Scepter, Lunaris, "dream" areas in Act 4, cold ones in Cavern of Anger, lightning in Chamber of Sins 2, etc.), just appearing randomly, or after a certain threshold (eg: Merveil is defeated X times in the past hour and causes them to be enabled for the next hour, then is put on a cooldown or something) as they could fit thematically.

Warbands could work well if they were re-jiggered a bit. I could see them as an Act 2 thing with each group linked to a bandit leader, but that just limits them to portions of Act 2 (no sense in them being in anything past the Vaal Ruins), which is pretty short now. Throwing them all over the world just doesn't make sense, thematically, and by changing them up they can leave the uniques as a part of Warbands on maps, and possibly add in some new uniques that fit the theme of the bandits. Another option is to limit 1 faction per Act, like Brinerot in Act 1, Mutewind in Act 2 and Redblade in Act 3. If they added a special one for Act 4 which made sense to be in the dream areas, then that could work out as well. It would be nice to see the Warbands fighting other creatures though.

Of course, both can be used as map mods.

I think Tempest in the main game will be infrequent but a bonus here and there. Like corrupted zones are now. Used to be that you couldn't walk 10 feet without a corrupted zone somewhere. Now they are around but a somewhat less frequent.

Just pay Zana 20 chaos for a random tempest that might brick your map and otherwise only provides a minor IIQ boost, or, even better, the chance at warbands that drop tiny amounts of loot! Luckily, you will have a chance to find one of the random league specific uniques that nobody wants!

How do you brick a map?

For the Trap Support Gem and Ranged Attack Totem Support Gem, are there any fun gem intereactions you can recommend?

Get abyssal tempest, proceed to leave immediately.

Ugh the burn out is real, trying to maintain a pool of maps above 75 is proving to be a pain even with chisel's and investing into the maps. Not sure how much I like the maps being this way, will probably take a break for a few days as I've been playing a shit ton.
