This league is fantastic. Best state of the game so far. I have been enjoying the hell out of this season despite losing two HC characters now.

I think Perandus' mechanics work to solve past issues of risk vs. reward and being able to have a (somewhat) deterministic outcome if you work at it over the long run. Fabulous stuff, GGG.

I don't know if the prices on Cadiro drop as time goes on. I mean, more and more items will be added to the economy as far as supply and demand goes; people will get the items they need so demand drops, and people will find and buy more items and put them up for sale so supply increase. However, at the same time, the coins still have the rare item sink, so while coins do drop more, they're still constantly eaten by rare purchases, which on the other hand isn't what's happening to uniques.

I could be mistaken but the way I see it, Cadiro's deals are getting worse and worse as time goes by, if the prices stay the same. I mean, they're mostly pointless deals already, if you take part in trading, because most of the deals are worse than what you can get by buying the items off of players. But, it's compounded by the supply and demand issue.

I dunno... As soon as I saw the teaser about these coins and item purchases I thought it was a bad idea. My character is only 52 (finally got my subclass open though), but so far I haven't gotten a single worthwhile deal from Cadiro. Every single unique for sale has been like 6-10x overpriced when comparing to poe.trade.

Deals seem to be random. I've gotten a couple really good deals and lots of bad ones. The currency deals always seem to be good though.

I'll agree that it seems to be getting a little worse as time goes on. I don't mind though. I'll still grab the cheap jewelry just to see what it rolls. I'm treating the coins as free. I think the market on them was still fucked last I looked a few days ago (as far as fitting into the tradeable currency scheme). I do not think it's worth anywhere near 100 / 1c... though maybe I should trade them for like 20c while other people still think so. I think it should settle around 500 / c. They're just too easy to get, and too hard to spend. Unless you find a great unique you can't afford and go begging to trade for them.

Anyway, like I was saying. As long as I still have enough to buy most of the uniques that pop up (even though I've only liked / bought one), I just buy cheap stuff (like yellow jewelry) to see the roll. It's a free roll for me. Buy it, ID it, throw it on the ground and move on. Just another loot chance. For 40 coins that I will replace in a zone or two? Why not?

I DO like what it did to early game. It kind of solved the problem of gearing in early game. Everything was always throw-away crap because of how fast you replace gear. It would be gone in 15 min. It's still throw away crap that is gone in 15 min, but I'm wearing a lot more decent yellows than ever before in a1n/a2n.

I always keep around level 1 "quicksilver gear". When I need a quicksilver for the boot recipie, I'd mule a quick medicine chest. It's half yellow now with a bramblejack. I'd normally never have half yellow lvl 1 gear until the league was almost over.

edit: Even though I've never crashed or lagged hard, I'd admit stability is shit. I've seen and heard the horror stories. I'm not happy with them about that. To cut them some slack though, the fixes have been shit like "fixed a crash that would happen when you had inferno helm mtx with archer perandus mobs who were shooting tornados while your party member was staring at Zana's boobs".

Oh yeah and got rollbacked 2 times in 5 minutes earlier today, and 4 times total. Lost cheap Dream Fragments and decent priced chaos orbs.

Got two belly of the beasts for 600 coins each, I'd say that's a pretty good deal. Of course, Belly has dropped to like 8c in price because everyone else has gotten that deal, too, but coins sell at like 100 per chaos so it's still worth it to buy the unique instead of sell the coins. He also gives brodeals on currency, like 10c for 200 coins or an exalt for 800-1200.

I have to disagree, it's simply too much on top of the 4x T1 unique buff a few months back. It's either or in my opinion as the current levels of supply just destroys the market and makes the game feel like it's trying to compete with D3.

Yea, i dislike the whole concept of Perandus coins\vendor.

The game itself is amazing, and i love the ascendancy classes and the labyrinth, but the perandus challenge is silly... some of the deals are just absurd and shouldn't be able to exist. Also, Coins being tradeable is even more absurd.

What's you guys' go-to strat for Merc Izaro, especially as melee? I haven't killed him yet but I find it easiest so far to just facetank a few of his abilities with granite + basalt + sulphur and DPS as much as you can, then run around and collect flask charges from his skeletons and repeat.

This is my only real issue with it. However, other than quest items, which can't be stored in your stash at all, there isn't currently any non-tradeable items. Actually, if they made these quest items with an unlimited stack size, that would be a fair compromise.

As for the system itself, I love it. I view this as a great alternative to trading with players, which I have always disliked. You get a random item that you may or may not want when you happen cross paths with him. Once this gets folded into the game, the frequency of he and his chests will drop way down, just like everything else that gets folded into the core game.

I sincerely hope this never gets implemented in the core game unless they redesign the whole concept around it being a solo self found helper more than a destroyer of economy that it is now.

I agree, coins shouldn't be tradeable. However, I don't see how it destroys the economy. It's not like average rares and uniques have exploded in price up to 200 exalts. If the amount of raw currency isn't changed, prices won't fluctuate that much in the end. Things might get a little cheaper, but that just makes it easier to get things done. The only people this really hurts are flippers who like to hoard currency and feel like they "won" the game simply by being rich. For normal players, it just means more access to items they couldn't previously dream of.

I mean, if you enjoyed grinding for a month to be able to afford a Shavs then I guess reducing that grind kind of takes some of the gameplay out for you, but most people who strive for expensive builds have them within a few days of the league starting, so the subset of players really impacted negatively by Perandus has to be very, very small.

Yeah, no, quite the contrary. You can buy most uniques for less than a chaos nowadays, and some the better ones still under 10 chaos. And it's still early days. Uniques will have absolutely no value soon, which is exactly what I've been saying; the deals Cadiro gives get worse and worse unless GGG drops those prices, because coins still do have sinks in that people buy rares and currency off of Cadiro, and so coins retain their value, while the value of uniques keeps plummeting.

Guess that's not a bad thing if you don't mind buying a full gear set from people.

This isn't d3 where uniques are the ultimate end goal, in fact most builds only use a couple of them. Outside of blatantly overpowered unique chests and a few weapons, most uniques are quite meaningless unless your build is completely based around them. The only unique my shadow has is tremor rod. This idea that you can "go buy a full gear set for free" because uniques are cheaper is just absurd, that's not how this game works and saying it makes me doubt you even play PoE.

Perandus doesn't flood the market with good rares or currency, so there isn't an issue, because those two things are what 99% of this game revolves around.
