During my leveling craze a few weeks back I just hit a point where the currency was unmanageable and finally caved... I too had been playing on and off since before it was on Steam and if you think about it, the $60 for a supporter pack means I've basically paid some negligible amount per hour. Currency tab is a must, a few premium tabs are a must... Now if only they had a map tab.

Yeah that is fine, but my problem is mainly the backpack size, i do not think they do sell anything for increasing the backpack size.
If they only did everything take just one space in the backpack, i could cope with that.

Its because you are low level overall.

The farming filters even the regulars ones, not the very strict highlight which items to pick because they are the BiS to roll.

In reality you should be picking max 2-3 items+ currency (and those rarely) per area/map.

But i am like you, cant really resist trying to find good items, so

Nah, i think someone at GGG is throwing me items on purpose to piss me off XD.
For example, yesterday i decided to change the main skill with my marauder, so i thought, ok forget about drops, just concentrate at the task at hand, and yep, three unique 2-handers, in less than 20 mins, man it´s like they knew i was busy with deciding which skill to switch to.
Oh, and a lot of 6-slot items, the ones that take more backpack space, heck even one 5-slot linked armor, i was like WTF? XD.
Yes i do confess i love the itemization in this game, i can´t resist to find good items, i was not even capable of taking that break i said XD.

Only for summoners or in general?, i ask because i have been considering CI with my witch, not now of course, i am too low level and too little ES for trying it now.

Sorry, but LL Righteous Fire and CI? I think you meant something else.

Fuck elemental reflect in general. Lionseye's Glare + Elemental reflect means I basically 1 shot myself -_-

Ok, understood thank you, i will have to figure a way to improve my res against chaos then.

Chaos resist is pretty expensive on good pieces. For the most part if you can dodge stuff you're fine if you're not a melee. Things like Atziri's Promise also helps out if you're worried.

CI is not for the average player anymore.

It was dumbed down and made a period of 2-3 years of pure Energy Shield builds, now its overnerfed.

CI is -not- for 99.9% of the playerbase right now.

Life and LowLife/ES with https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Sh...%27s_Wrappings as always are pretty much the only real options for the average player.

Everything else you are wasting your time.

And you dont put Chaos Resist on items, waste of stat 99.9999% of times.

Most of the enemies/bosses that do chaos damage are dots/poison clouds. Like they use viper strike, desecrate, caustic arrow, etc., and variations of those.

So you will rarely get one shotted by it (outside of like viper strike crits), you can move out of most of it, and healing/regen can usually cancel out the dots that do get through/if you aren't fast moving out of poison clouds.

Compared to most other non-chaos damage where almost everything can be large af crits that one shot you.

Im right now at start of act 10 and lvl 66 and i have only used a few currency outside poe.trade like alchemy and transmutation.

When will you normally start using your more expensive currency on your gear for upgrading/changing it??

    Thanks

Depends on your build and how far it can scale.

It also depends how far you wanna go.

Not all builds are viable despite what GGG wants to pretend, the meta in PoE is worst than most games.

Thanks alot .. i will try and focus on a few good pieces of gear first.

Another question : I just started doing maps at lvl 69 but i die alot because i cant find good resist gear. atm im at

    fire : 30%
    light 44%
    frost - 37%
    Chaos - 25%

Do you sacrifce whatever you can to cap yourself? im running sunder berserker spec.. so quite melee

Alright, to make you get a feel of Path of Exile since you are new.

1)Resists must be capped at all times, not only capped, they need to be around to 40 above cap in case of curse debuff, the second part isnt that mandatory if everything dies before it can get you.

2)You do not try to put Chaos resist, its pointless, only 1-2 specs can do that and its still pointless, you lose too much of other better stats to do so.

3)Health Pool is god, as example as 69 you should already be at 3.-4k averagely, if you arent means the build is wrong, your goal is to have 6.5-8k with expensive gear, usually averaging somewhere between 5-6k with middle-ground gear.

You asked when do you start buying gear, sounds like a good time to check poe trade for your resists

Finally got around to trying some end game stuff on my RF character before I quit this league. First character was Baron Srs, which I got to 90, then sold all his stuff for RF gear. RF character is only level 80. Got all the Guardians down (yellow maps but easy mods) using only 1 map each. Used up most of my portals for each one learning the fights but once I understood the fights they went pretty well.
Shaper didn't work out quite so much. Everything went well up until his 2nd phase. Felt like my dps wasn't good enough, and just had too many balls in bad placements and couldn't get through that phase.

Every league I seem to get farther into/do more of the game, so my goal next league is to kill shaper and uber atziri.

Thats because you discover what works and what doesnt.

RF as example works everywhere, but you require the really expensive stuff to get the DPS on a level that it can get Shaper.

While other specs with 1-4/10th of the cost can destroy him and at the same cost of RF, his phases dont even matter.

Are there any like...mapping guides for dummies? I'm getting into it now and I think I'm doing alright, but I know I'm probably missing out on all kinds of shit that would help me progress through that map system faster etc.

Oh well, at least mindlessly grinding maps is pretty fun, even if it's not getting me much beyond some XP and mediocre drops : P
