My mans played like he wasn't in front of a room full of people with his gameplay being broadcast on a massive screen, and also with like at least 60K+ people watching him online.

Give this man an NPC in the game.

That is a fairly significant change to traps and mines in the game they just threw out willy-nilly.

What I am hearing is I have to redo all my loot filters. I didn't expect Chaos orbs to change like this. Huh.

Base type/crafting changes sound fantastic. Narrowing things down so they can actually give more room for building and I'm very interested in the changes to crafting now. No more alteration spamming and no scours. Man, this is all so exciting.

  4. #15004
That sounds dope; make-your-own skill macro gems.

Kudos to the fans that are actually asking in depth, system based questions. And the guy who booed!

Don't try to sell the campaign guys. It sucks.

Yeah, I imagine the crowd willing to make the trip to New Zealand are fairly astute and tuned in.

I appreciate that they're just like, a bunch of nerds discussing their game on stage. Good answers when they have them, and they know when they'll have an unpopular answer.

Have they said anything about melee being more viable in PoE 2? I know the monk looks very melee heavy but these are promo videos. It feels like once the meta settles its going to go back to the same as PoE 1 with only 10% of viable builds being melee.

Lightning Javelin Hunter is definitely a class for me. Javazon was my main in D2 for decades.

They're completely changing how combat works, including infinite dodge rolls. It looks like they're genuinely putting a focus on the action-RPG aspect from what I'm seeing and what they're saying. Numbers/meta-wise, nobody will know. But it looks like they're trying to build in tools to let melee actually function like melee characters.

I missed this, but this is a thing? Because if so, yes. My Javazon with eth Titan's Revenge was still one of my favorite characters of all time.

No, because that's a question that can not be answered. "Viable" is a relative and subjective concept.

All melee attacks can be animation canceled and dodge roll has no cooldown or cost. You can also change direction mid swing and most melee attacks carry forward momentum to close gaps.

Perhaps that information may be relevant as to what your personal concerns for melee are.

Right now on stream, Kripparian is playing the new Hunter class. As a melee Javelin & Shield build. If you want to see someone play something live that isn't monk.

Yes, Kripparian is playing it on stream now. It's bad ass.

Seems defeating a boss gives a permanent character buff.

Credit where due; Kripp actually showed up to play. Most streamers palyed so poorly. Kripp is wrecking shit.

He's actually playing the game. And this is wonderful. I'm sure there will be lots of other exciting classes and all, but I can't imagine not starting on Huntress specifically to play some kind of Javazon short of the class simply not being functional. Be still, my beating heart.

I have seen more bosses this weekend in a POE2 demo than I have seen on two level 100 and two 70 characters in D4.

I greatly disagree with reusing bosses in games. Everything you fight ought to be interesting in a video game.

Oh man, is that the new Dried Lake map?

The only thing I love as much as Ledge is Dried Lake.

    - - - Updated - - -

Enemy design looks sick: The Perennial King, The Impaler, the undead Elephant giant, the black scorpions. Very distinctive.

I'm screaming at my monitor at Kripp to flip a 180 and use rolling slam on the groups of mobs he's dragging behind him. I absolutely love me some proper damage/mobility skills.

More great design here; the goblins ride in wicker baskets atop ogres, then they jump and become separate game entities.

The Sulphur boulders crawl out of pits to reveal they are stone creatures. The little goblins beating war drums.

I am super impressed with animations like if the Ogre lifts his arm to strike, the goblins riding in the basket spill out.

    Excellent visual communication.

    Give. This. Man. A. NPC.

@Edge Coh/CoV was doing the phone/radio thing for turning in quests a loooong time ago.

It’s one of those things that stands out because DUH.

It’s also how I head cannoned how my character in TSW could know fucking Morse code. He just googled it on his cellphone.

Ah, that's one I never played too much but fair point. It's a good system. Also TSW did require you to go to literal fictional sites on your real browser for missions at times so like, 100% cannon.

Caught part of the panel of ARPG nerds yesterday and the laughter from everyone as they're introducing themselves and Chris says the line was great. As much as I rage at GGG and Chris in particular for dumb things they do/say, he really is hard to hold a grudge against. It must be what happens when you have absurd amounts of money and can buy all the MTG cards you'd ever want.

Exilecon really did it’s job and got me excited. Not something too easy to do anymore.

I wasn't even hype and mostly kinda forgot it was happening this weekend, even rofl. Was basically this thread that reminded me and got me to tune in and now it's quite possibly my most anticipated game. Why yes I'm probably buying a supporter pack for the upcoming league (Disciple looks nice) and will be interested in any opportunities to buy access to the beta for PoE2.

Seriously, watching some of these streamers and shit play the game was great and also infuriating. I was almost screaming at my mic when Kripp was playing because he was just so bad and also didn't really do too much experimentation (at least on the warrior) which is like the whole point of these kinds of demos. TEST ALL THE THINGS

Apparently, the streamers can't test all the things. A few people got skill gems, that logically should work and exist as in-game assets. However, gems such as Chain and Reduced Duration supports are not working currently. There also seemed to be some implicit skills that could not be changed from the default loadout per class.

Zizarian and Nugi played with Johnathan narrating; both noted the input delay is different from POE1. Johantah said it was not 100% dialed in for all abilities during the Nugi stream, IIRC.

Alternatively, some people claimed Hunter was easiest to play because their skills did work without much delay but are weaker than intended. While others reported Warrior was the class that felt most complete but had a much higher delay and was "harder" to play.

    Basically this.

I never expected that PoE and GGG would offer me the palette cleanser I needed after D4 but damn.

Not to mention Grim Dawn prepping to drop 1.2 which looks like even more good stuff from Crate.
