Power Siphon of rhe Archmage is so good. I fucking love this era of POE1. I wish I could play more hours and work on all my ideas.

I have never been so wealthy in POE1.

Running a Herald with Spark/Phantasm, and it's pretty fun. Need to hit Act 6 so I can get CoH for HoL, and I need more mana/recovery/leech since I can't use Clarity (6L Spark ain't cheap), but its nice to have all 5 Heralds linked up (minus the CoH) and still have ~50% of my mana. Not sure what I'm going to aim for defensively, since I'm probably going to go Future Nostalgia for the 75% Chaos Resist and 100% Agony buff (+Scourge & Apocalypse), which means I don't need to go CI.

I'm tempted to swap Spark for a melee build, Ele Hit + Story of the Vaal could be wild, but melee with a dozen minions running around is kind of annoying. :/

It's crazy Ball Lightning is viable again. I was running COC Spark Bog Witch last week. Phenomenal clear.

I am on that 2014 shit. Pherica league is so much fun.

If I have any phenomenal cosmic powers or a finger remains uncurled on the paw of a dead monkey... I hope Phrecia never ends.

"fully understand the game" so like 20 people outside GGG might fit this bill, and I guarantee every one of them makes more money streaming or in their normal jobs than GGG pays at the highest end of the QA scale.

Until they find a way to hire outside NZ they're just fucked for being able to staff up properly.

?? I don't think it's a particularly complex requirement. 'Fully understand' means different things to different people - I doubt the hiring manager is going to be asking you what the relative weight is for T1 hybrid phys vs T3 cold damage, but they will expect you to understand what Ultimatum is and how Blight works.

The specific detail they asked for is more than one thousand combined hours in their games. I'm sure they have data that shows how many players this actually applies to, and the requirement to be in NZ isn't that complicated either particularly with relocation assistance provided. They shouldn't be (and I'm sure aren't) looking to hire Zizaran to be a QA tester, but there are a lot of people out there making videos for ~2k viewers that could be tempted by a steady income and a foot in the door.

Also, considering the US is kinda in complete meltdown right now throwing a life preserver to people fleeing the sinking ship sounds like perfect timing.

Yeah I wasn't really having a go at you, more the concept that they have memed into existence which is that it's in some way hard to employ people from overseas in New Zealand. It's either excuses on their behalf or they have been given bad advice - it's never been hard for legitimately skilled people to immigrate to NZ. Developer jobs qualify for Skilled Migrant Resident visas if GGG have become an accredited employer, temporary work visas aren't difficult to get, etc. If they're underpaying and hiring people with no qualifications then yeah they might have some issues, but so would anyone in any country struggle to find workers if they won't pay market rates.

In any case, I'm not applying for it and I'm not a hiring manager at GGG, so no point me commenting on their behalf haha.

That is incorrect. New Zealand has tourist working visas like most countries in the developed world.

i could live with this slot machine if the omens and shit that actually let you craft were more available once you got to mapping, but they start dropping pretty far into the map process.

outside of the huntress i'm not terribly jazzed about this update from the bits they've teased. will likely avoid the livestream and just catch up on the summaries after or something.

The towers thing really worries me. This just doesn't work and I desperately want GGG to stop pushing towers.
