Video driver. I found the issue. I downloaded the 64 bit one first by accident (could have swore I picked the right one). Download window wasn't cleared, and apparently the newest one shows up on top. Because that makes sense.

Only reason I did it is because Blizzard told me to.

Oh, that wont fix your random lockups but it will help a bit with performance in games depending on how old your drivers are.

Then again I never update my GPU drivers mostly because they keep getting worse and worse for ATI.

Yeah probably should update. I usually watch driver benchmarks and stuff anyway to see the performance gains / losses, but with 2 gen old hardware I don't really expect much improvement from drivers.
