Most Wanted was the only game of the series I got into. I loved getting graded based on how well you ran from the cops.

The fact that you got the BMW for the final pursuit was the icing on the cake. Easily the best car in the game, and it even looked great.
I still thought that the races against Razor had much more of a "final boss" feel to them than the final pursuit though.

You start with the BMW and you lose it very early on, if that's what you were thinking of.

As for being forcefully switched to the BMW for the final pursuit, I didn't mind it at all. Sure, my Ford GT was ungodly fast, but there was something about the BMW's weak handling that I really liked. It kind of suited me.

It was the absolute best part of the entire game, I freaking loved that part with Cross. Was an epic ending.
Also yeah, the fact that you got the BMW back at the end was awesome. As people must remember you are living the story of the game character not yours, he gets HIS car back which is all he wanted.

Earl (the guy with the Lancer, #9 I think) was the toughest blacklist member for me, simply because the rubber banding would really really kick in at times, and when he was close to me the Lancer's insane handling would really show and he'd pass me. JV (the guy with the Viper, #4) was also pretty tough, yeah.

Could just be that it didn't suit your driving style (although it's difficult to really adopt a "style" in a game like Most Wanted). Even after switching to manual I didn't have too many problems with the BMW's gear setup, and, as I mentioned earlier, the handling was perfect for me. And as far as I remember, the top speed and acceleration of the BMW were beyond maximum, so that made things even better.

Funny enough, my dad has a BMW M3 irl. My nostalgia hit me in the face when he got one (not literally). I really want him to make it look like the NFS one now >_>
