    Since Nolan's batman will be gone, so a new batman is needed. Green Lantern tanked hard and no a new Superman. JLA film will suck.

    You dont need to watch the 'prequals' to enjoy the Avengers, but it sure as hell helps. Even then, they were 4 (5) very good superhero movies that make the Avengers kick ass even more if you watched them.
