We do have weird half things with our numbers. For instance fifty we say as half sixty, since our word for sixty means 3 times 20, and fifty is half way from forty to sixty. Same thing with 70 and 90. It's half 4 times 20 (halvfjerds) and half 5 times 20(halvfems).

Because there are so many different ways to make it. And if you do it right (Ie, not dunking the ENTIRE thing in soy sauce like I've seen people do) you get a decent taste of all the ingredients.
