I often want to build a new deck, but I don't know enough cards to come up with more than creature type based decks. q_q
only for playing with friends though, nothing official or so.

I am always thinking of new decks, but mostly for more competitive purposes.

well considering that one of my friends just built himself a pretty little infect deck (woohoo -.-) it would be nice to be able to come up with kewl and viable deck strategies. xD

Almost all of my decks were built like that, even when I was only playing casually.

Those were actually pretty common back during Lorwyn when there was so much mana fixing it was absurd.

somehow most of my decks end up mono coloured, because there is just some much awsomesauce of that one colour that there ain't enough space for a second one. ^^

another friend had a 5 coloured slither deck ones, though. but by now it's down to 3 colours as well I think.

5 color sliver decks are always fun, especially EDH ones.

Most of my first decks are monocolored as well, but they are all awesome no matter how many colors in them.

Pfft best 5 color card is Karona, False God, although her card makes zero sense compared to her actual character.

we sometimes stumble upon really good cards when looking around in the gatherer, but it's not the same as knowing which options there are to improve a deck or strategy you aim for. ^^

btw, an idea I had lately: is there a realistic way to build a flexible and good working deck w/o any creature, or at least no really attacking creatures?
so, a really spell heavy deck?

Oh of course there is. MBC (monoblack control), MUC (monoblue control), the miracle deck running around, and plenty of others are very capable of having no creatures.

Because you sort of are. I use her in my sliver deck because no one expects an alpha strike in there.

Part of it matches her character perfectly, in that she is a creation of the strongest forces on one plane that she is magic incarnate, acts like a child, and can not control her magic, making the working for your opponent thing make sense. Although why she is tribal centric I will never quite understand.

Considering she was made from these characters (in the case of Akroma, Phage, and Jeska she is actually those 3 characters, although Phage and Jeska are the same person) in the story you would think she would be the sum of her parts rather than what she is.

Well, she's like a reminiscence of old times, when rare cards didn't have to be totally overpowered to be good. :/

Ahh. But shes just silly. I suppose if you have more creatures or more life she works better for you, but still.

Oh the Miracle deck is definitely all defense, but as soon as you do one offensive thing you blow your opponent out of the water.

This is a sample thread of the deck, a lot of the cards are expensive, but there are many takes on it. Proxy one version up and have some fun.

She sure is. Board wipes, sacrifices, -x/-x, and exiling all work, plus any big blue, green, or other white creatures can do it.
